Great for Brunch!

Virtuous Pie’s UBC location offers one of Vancouver’s best brunch spots, hands down. Their seating area is light and open, with a patio that is perfect when it’s nice out. The brunch offerings are also filling and delicious! We recently sat down and ordered The Cure brunch bowl, and the Grandma’s Pie pizza. We also had a soft serve ice cream to follow. If you’re looking for a spot to brunch with friends, where you can eat great tasting comfort food in a beautiful setting - this is the spot you need to go.

Pros: All Vegan Everything, Great tasting pizzas and brunch options, Awesome location

Delicious!

Creative, well-made and overall delicious pizzas (though not the traditional type) and a nice location. I've been there a number of times with my boyfriend so we've tried all the pizzas on the menu. Obviously some are better than others but all of them are interesting. The cheese and pate board is also quite good and the kale caesar is probably the best I've ever had. The ice-cream is not the greatest but I guess it's a personal taste. All in all, I'm very happy they've opened their 2nd location at UBC - the one in Chinatown is very small thus crowded.

The ethical, nay virtuous way to gain your Freshman 15. ;)

These guys are geniuses. They make incredible pizzas, delicious ice cream, the softest soft serve, unbelievable cheese and (probably) brilliant brews on the campus of a university sometimes referred to as 'Berkely North'. And better yet, it's all vegan, which means I've felt entirely zero guilt after each time I've left with a happy belly full of pizza, ice cream and cookies.

But hey, at least the sugar rush is enough to fuel my power walk back home through the nearby and oh-so-awe-inspiring Pacific Spirit Park!

Pros: Everything's vegan, and amazingly so, Super nice staff, Beautiful atmosphere

Cons: A bit of a trek from the main campus, (which, given the fare, is probably more of a pro)

Tasty pizza

We had stranger wings, ultraviolet and a slice of pesto cbr. They were quite tasty. I liked the cauliflower wings and blue cheese sauce (though it didnt taste like blue cheese) and also the pesto cbr was tasty. Think ultraviolet could have used more cheese and flavors. While we were there the restaurant got filled with super cheesy smell that my non-veg friends thought should be aged dairy cheese.. but they said that it’s probably from the grandma pie pizza. Should try that one next time! Oh the pizza is a bit on the smaller side, especially for the price ($12-14). The salty caramel iced latte was not very strong in salty caramel by the way.

Pros: Tasty pizza, Some very cheesy cheese smell!, Creative toppings

Cons: Not very impressive dough (for me), Expensive for the size?

The best

They have such delicious and creative pizza, ice cream, and pastries here. The food is reasonably priced and the staff are super friendly, and I like the interior decoration and the big outdoor seating space.

Pros: Everything

Peking Express and Stranger Wings

I had been to the Main Street location several times, but this was my first experience at the Wesbrook Mall location. I was delighted to find that this location is huge, neatly decorated, and very well staffed. For those who haven't seen their pies, the pizza is fairly priced for the quantity and a bargain for the quality. My fiancée and I ordered a Stranger Wings and Peking Express pizza to go - sadly no photos, as it just wouldn't do their wonderful in-store presentation justice.

I have a hard time commenting on the Stranger Wings pizza because my fiancée loved it so much that I barely got a bite in! The highlight of this pizza hands down is the spicy buffalo cauliflower - it has a dynamic heat and wonderfully crisp texture! The rest of the pizza is simple but elegant, though I wish there was more funk in the faux blue cheese drizzle.

The Peking Express hits with a powerful hoison front note. Emerging from that flavour is a balance ginger, scallion, and 5 spice that makes it feel like I could be eating any number of amazing traditional Chinese dishes. I especially like the added chew of the wilted gai lan and the visual interest of the mixed black and white sesame.

For me, the real test of a pizza is how well it stands up to re-heating in the oven the next day. Both pizzas held up perfectly, with the crust retaining crispiness but not becoming cardboard.

All in all, the best vegan pizza I've ever had. If I have any complaints, it's that they took my two favourite pizzas - the Indian and Korean themed pizzas - off the menu. This may not be the best place to visit if you want to stuff your face for as cheap as possible, but that is a stylistic choice rather than a criticism. Miss this pizza joint at your own peril!

Pros: Lots of unique options., That crust., Great happy hour specials.

Cons: They axed my favourite pies.

Can’t believe I haven’t tried it yet!

I’ve had many slices of vegan pizza in my life, but this is hands down THE best. We ordered the Pesto CBR and the Grandma and both blew my mind! The bacon on the CBR was so flavorful and smoky! The cheeses on the Grandma all were so flavorful and incredible! Better than any cheese I’ve had. I’m excited to go back home to Portland and eat here way more often!

Pros: Aesthetic goals , So delicious, Amazing service!

Cons: Literally nothing

Amazing place for breakfast and pizza

This place is basically Vegan Heaven. Went to this location after going to the Main st location more times than I can count. And I have to say, this new location is pretty amazing, super spacious with a really nice patio, AND is open for breakfast every day at 8, as well as 10 on the weekends. Their Sunny Side Breakfast sandwich is quite possibly the best breakfast sandwich I’ve had since becoming Vegan (tofu scramble, chorizo, cheese and hollandaise sauce on a brioche bun). Their Pizzas are incredible here too (too many faves to list here), AND they have dipped donuts here too, super delicious...will have to try their soft serve there too

Pros: Delicious breakfast, Delicious Pizzas, Delicious Desserts

Cons: Just have to get to UBC
