A great place to take your friends and have conversations about kindness while surrounded by people doing the kindest thing they can in most cases for animals while eating, (simply leaving them out of it). If you have trouble getting people to go with you to all vegan places ask yourself 1. are they really friends or 2. offer to pay. Surprisingly, this is a pretty effective strategy.

Favorite new restaurant!! - Edit
Went to Vida Cantina for my birthday and was absolutely blown away. Everything is made in-house (fake meats, vegan cheeses etc) and the flavors were incredible. It was beautiful and upscale inside, wonderful staff, and creative cocktails. Incredible nachos. So nice to have a fully vegan place to go in the SF financial district with such great atmosphere and delicious food. They even gave me a homemade baileys and toasted marshmallow dessert drink as a birthday surprise. We will definitely be back!

Loved the vibe of this place and their food was insane. Best nacho plate I’ve ever had. The jalapeño poppers were also amazing, very spicy jalapeños! And we also got the quesadilla for our daughter and were amazed by the ‘cheese.’ Wish i could make it like that at home!

The experience here was really good even though I prefer Taqueria La Venganza for vegan Mexican food. Here at Vida Cantina, service is spectacular and there are really creative mocktails! The most flavorful drinks I've ever had. Their taquitos with potato and mushroom filling were definitely a highlight. The cheese on the nachos was great, too. Personally I didn't care for the tacos or Blueberry Cheesecake. And as other reviews have said, the burrito could be a bit less "boring".

The food was tasty. There were 4 of us who went and the burritos and appetiser was a large portion. The enchiladas on the small side. My only complaint was that all the mains seemed to have some fake meat type thing. But overall, an enjoyable place to eat and loved the cashew cream.

We loved the food and atmosphere at Vida Cantina. On a Tuesday night, we were served by the chef and owner. We enjoyed the unique tacos and salad. The cheesecake was impressive! Would definitely recommend and come again.

This is a popular vegan spot that definitely lives up to the hype. I went there a little bit before opening time, and there were already three people waiting for the place to open. This place fills up fast, so make sure to get reservations in advance.
Read moreThe plates are very filling, so bring someone to split the meals with. The nachos are excellent, and they are seriously better than the nachos I’ve had when I was vegetarian! They’re topped with vegan chorizo, cashew cheese, and generous servings of guacamole.
Service was also great, and I appreciate the outdoor dining option since I brought my dog. They have heaters that make being outside very cosy.

Awesome Vegan Mexican Food - Edit
After landing in SF and settling into our hotel we were ready for some good food. A quick search on Happy Cow and we found Vida Cantina. We were not disappointed. They got us a table even though we hadn't reserved anything and we were blown awY by the choices on the menu.

The portobello tacos were divine and the salad was refreshing too.
Highly recommend.

and a nice selection. Yet, it felt more like a bar than a restaurant and was fairly expensive for the setting. It was very loud and cold with the open door plus the cocktail was very small for the price. On the other hand, the appetizer was huge, definitely enough for 2. Solidarity points or being all vegan.

Food was surely tasty. But the platting was boring amd lack of creativity. The Burrito cam simply a burrito cut into 2. Not even a slice of tomato to give it a color. Even on the street of Mexico city i would get a bit of color.

I went to Vida Cantina a few weeks ago. I had ordered the nachos and taquitos . The nachos was very tasty served by the chef. It was humongous and me and my partner couldn't finish it. The taquitos was ok but a bit plain for me but I liked the vegan cheese though my partner didn't. It's not exactly healthy since both nachos and taquitos are deep fried. It's a more comfort food kind of place. Seems like people come here for their drinks which I didn't have but looked tasty. I wanted to try their dessert but the wait staff told us the chef didn't make today was a disappointment. But other than that it's a nice restaurant and bar

Ambiance was great and the staff were wonderful and very helpful, providing tips on what to see and visit around the area.
