Meh… - Edit
Overall kinda average - not super impressed with anything but it was alright. Prices were a little high for some of the dishes my party had.
Read moreMenu is not completely vegan but mostly there and solid variety of stuff.
Friend of mine that used to work there a year or so ago said they have basically 0 organic or local ingredients in any of their recipes… place kinda give the impression that their food is healthier than it really is considering what my friend said seems to maybe be true… although it doesn’t look like they claim to use organic or local stuff I kinda feel like they should be trying to…
Pros: Staff was friendly , Some local products on walls for sale, Jackfruit Nachos were good
Cons: Almost no organic options , Pretty pricey for portion size , Beet poke bowl w a bunch of processed pickled crap

Great breakfast - Edit
I stumbled on this place while taking a day trip from Honolulu. I was pleasantly surprised! I had the vegan eggs Benedict and I fell in love. I never liked eggs when I was Omni but this was 10/10.

so good we went twice! - Edit
we were stoked to find this place! and like the title says we went twice because we wanted to try more of the things! I believe that most things are vegan, but I think they do offer some dairy options and the cashier didn't know if the croissants were vegan or not. there were also 2 non-vegan things on the menu.
Read moreBut the things we ate were yummy! the first time we went we got the vegan Ceaser chicken salad, vegan crab cakes, and waffles! the second time we went we got the tofu scramble with a side of nacho cheese sauce, side of rice paper bacon, ulu nachos, the waffles again! and bloody marys!
Pros: mostly vegan food, super tasty, very cute
Cons: cashier didn't know what wasn't vegan

Good food friendly staff - Edit
We got the crab cakes. They were good but the aioli overpowered them. For $18 it didn’t seem like much food. NOT all vegan as the feta and mozzarella are dairy.

Great mostly vegan spots - Edit
Nachos were delicious & the kiddos enjoyed their burger & avo toast. I had the Cali burger, which was a little heavy on the sauce so I’d probably choose something else next time. Overall good experience. Nice staff.

Great Lattes and Atmosphere - Edit
Amazing vegan lattes, would definitely recommend ordering one! The atmosphere was great with good background music and plenty of seating.
Read moreUpdate 03/19: Every time we visit the food gets better!! The tofu scramble has improved significantly. When we went this morning they were out of almost half their breakfast items and the place was packed. They definitely seem to need more support staff as only one woman was managing the entire cafe so please come with a lot of patience! There were a couple groups that were irritated with the speed, but she didn’t stop moving the entire time we were there.
Update 12/22: They hired a new chef, Simon, a couple months ago and the food definitely has improved! We got the vegan breakfast sandwich and vegan eggs Benedict both which were superb. Flavors were a lot better! They are working on revamping the menu which I’m looking forward to seeing these next couple months.

One of the few all vegan restaurants we found - Edit
This place is AMAZING! We were so unbelievably happy to have basically stumbled upon it when looking for food. We were starving when we got there and there were so many options even for me as a celiac/gluten free girl. We especially loved the nachos 😍
Read morePros: Lots of gluten free options, Convenient location off the main road, Beautiful aesthetic and kind/friendly staff
Cons: A tiny bit more expensive but worth it, The shopping mall it’s in is kinda weird/random

Great find - Edit
Great find on our drive through Hilo. Friendly staff and food came out quickly. BBQ had just the right heat in the sauce. Enjoyed the Kombucha without any flavoring and my husband had his with lime added. I like to support began/vegetarian restaurants like this, especially when traveling.

Great ideas, not the best - Edit
Obviously we liked this place as we went 2 times. For the portions you get, it seems a bit overpriced. The philly cheesesteak was disappointing. Its the size of a burger unlike most and the onions/peppers were not cooked. The cheese was not melted on there either. Sandwiches come w chips. They forgot the croutons in the BLTA salad. They could have cooked the food better with more flavor.

Expected better - Edit
First visit, ordered the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. Not good, seitan was hard & dry. Came with a handful of broken potato chips. Decided to give them a second chance. This time, I ordered the vegan vibe burger & vegan fried rice(instead of potato chips). Food was better this time. The standout was the "hostess cupcakes" would go back just for those.

Meh - Edit
I had the vegan Benny and my dining companion had the loco moco. Both were bland and sad looking. The seitan and “just eggs” had a rubbery texture and a grey like appearance. The service was good and the atmosphere inside was nice. I wouldn’t recommend the outdoor seating however, as it is adjacent to the highway or parking lot so not very relaxing.

Vegan Jackfruit Tacos (pulled “pork” - Edit
We got the vegan jackfruit tacos with the spicy mango sauce and they were EXCELLENT! 100% vegan and the spicy mango sauce comes on the side, so you can pour on however much you like! Even if you don’t like spicy things, it’s worth a try! It was delicious! Tacos served on one corn tortilla each. Servers were very friendly, and the cafe was clean, welcoming environment! Overall, for a vegan in Hawaii I loved the VIBE! Side note: dish comes with 3 tacos but they were so delicious I ate one before taking a picture! 😂

Super tasty breakfast! - Edit
The reviews were so hit or miss on Happy Cow that I almost didn’t stop here, but since it was on the way to the airport, I decided to chance it on my last day on the island. We had the Get Nuts toast and vegan loco moco- both were yummy, but the vegan loco moco blew me out of the water! The staff was attentive and helpful, the ambiance of the cafe is super cute and trendy, just all in all, one of my best experiences on the Big Island.

Yummy Latte - Edit
Good spot for a junk-food vegan. The fake-n kinda freaked me out ngl and the food tasted very non-vegan which is strange for a vegan, but probably great for someone looking to make the switch. However, I only tried the breakfast sando. The ingredients were just frozen just egg folds and beyond pattys, but the sauces were really good!! Spendy for a breakfast place, but I’d definitely come again just to grab coffee since it was amazing. The fried rice is pretty bomb.
