Great authentic ramen - Edit
Testsumen probably has the most authentic ramen in Hilo, but there is only 1 vegan ramen option. You can get the vegan ramen with tofu/seaweed broth or add curry. I did not like the curry version. The vegan spam is very unique. I added the “plenty vegetables” to mine for $4 so the total price was about $18 for a bowl. (prices have gone up from this, too). It is pricier here than other ramen in town, but the atmosphere is nice. It gets really busy after 6ish so plan accordingly

The 2 vegan ramens are fantastic - Edit
They don’t have a ton of options, but if you want vegan ramen, this is the place. The regular tonkatu and the tonkatsu curry ramens are both very good. We got a spice ball and it made it a solid ⅘ spice level. The edamame is also really nice, it’s served cold.

Worst experience in a ramen restaurant - Edit
We just tried this place and although the server was super friendly and helpful, they ran out of several vegan options, the vegan tonkotsu ramen which is the only one they have was flavorless and honestly awful. I/we would strongly advise any vegetarians or vegans from patronizing this place. Pig/pork in everything. Hardly any options. Too much risk for cross contamination.

The vegan tonkotsu ramen was insanely good. The curry ramen wasn’t great in my opinion. I was expecting a creamy curry broth, but it was like they dumped an entire bottle of curry powder into a broth, and all the spices were really gritty. It was also incredibly spicy, and I wish the menu had said so. The edamame was served cold, which I’m not used to. Would definitely recommend for the traditional tonkotsu vegan ramen, though!

Excellent vegan ramen! There are 2 hot and 1 cold vegan ramen options clearly labeled on the menu, which is always appreciated. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and is clean. There is ample free parking in the lot.

This place has the best ramen I have had in Hilo by far, and each bowl is very customizable.
