Absolutely delicious breakfast served fast, hot, and with great customer service, what more could you ask for? The menu is huge, with plenty of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus a bakery case filled with cookies, cake, and fudge. I especially loved the old-school vegan staples like the tofu scramble and tempeh bacon. So many vegan spots focus on the newer trends, so it was a nostalgic treat to find these classics still on the menu.

Giant menu with tons of variety - Edit
The giant menu reminds me so much of the diners I went to as a kid in New Jersey with great portions and tons of options - just all vegan! Everything I have tried here has been delicious and I always hope to get the opportunity to come back to Salt Lake for work just for another stop at my favorite vegan diner - Vertical Diner.

What a wonderful spot! They had an array of choices which is so rare for us vegans. Everything I got was very tasty I wish I lived closer. Coffees, nachos, sandwich, chili and mac n cheese were all great.

I normally have more of the American style food at this restaurant. But recently I got to try the sopes. The were so good. Just like authentic Mexican food but vegan. We also had other breakfast foods that morning. We had scrambled tofu, sausage, pieties and pancakes. We added mushrooms as a side which was a little expensive ($4) but tasty.

Satisfied our hankering for a biscuit and gravy breakfast, the gravy was delicious. Particularly loved the fried Mac and cheese bites with that mustardy dipping sauce as well as the flavorful and non greasy tofu scramble. Peanut butter milkshake was also quite a treat, and enough to share.

during a short vacation in SLC, my husband and I had breakfast twice here, and also got takeout to eat on the plane ride back home. the tofu benedict is SO GOOD, the tempeh bacon is mind blowing and the flavor combo is on point! everything else was also super delicious and everything you’d want from a diner.

Wow, I understand now why it’s top rated. This so far would also be my number 1 recommendation for SLC. Not only is the food outstanding and so very well-flavored and the right kind of salty, the service was so lovely. That plus the quite authentic diner setup and atmosphere made this whole brunch an outstanding experience. I would so love to return and try pretty much everything on the menu.

Both platters were fire ❤️🔥 crispy potatoes, Mac and cheese with nutritional yeast, perfectly roasted veggies, amazing mash and gravy, the wings and coleslaw 😭 I’ll be dreaming of this, that’s for sure. Come here!
They have so many cool themed nights, openly support other vegan businesses in the city. This place reached my heart space and I would come here so often would I live here.
