One of my favorite meals in Vienna - Edit
I really loved being able to try different traditional Austrian dishes made vegan. The menu has the classics and more and it was difficult to choose! The portions are huge and everything is well prepared. We ate a huge schnitzel with traditional potato salad and goulash with spätzle (like mini gnocchi) as well as sacher torte (chocolate apricot cake) and a traditional crepe with apricot jam to name a few and enjoyed all of it. Service was lovely too.
Read moreWe were so lucky to eat here before they temporarily closed while looking for a new chef. The food is definitely worth trying. They also have an eggnog (made of avocado) that is a must try if you drink alcohol. It tastes similar to what I remember eggnog tasted like.

It’s a completely vegan traditional Restaurant. You can buy very yummy viennese specialties: vegan „Wiener Schnitzel“, „Klöse“, „Braten“ or „Wiener Gulasch“ for example. There are very attentive and kind waiters. All in all we felt very comfortable.

They were nice to accommodate my walk up take-out request without calling ahead. Great looking restaurant and all staff were very nice and spoke English. They helped me pick 2 dishes and I was not disappointed! It was great to try authentic Austrian cuisine for Vegans.

I enjoyed the goulash with servietteknödels and the blood pudding dish both (the corner more than the latter). And eating real Austrian food was great. So I totally recommend this place. The atmosphere is pleasant enough but had room for improvement. The server was really positive. Air conditioning would have been nice, but that's true everywhere.

The food was wonderful! Massive portions and authentic Austrian dishes that are typically meat based can be eaten completely vegan! The waiter was also very friendly and helpful, I genuinely loved the experience. I had the Schnitzel with potato salad and don't forget to ask for the jam with it!

We loved our visit to Velani while traveling in Vienna. The traditional Austrian cuisine prepared vegan was flavorful and the portions were large. Our waiter was very friendly and happily assisted us in making selections from the menu as we had never eaten Austrian food. We enjoyed speaking with the owner who was very gracious and provided us with the names of other outstanding vegan restaurants to try during our stay in Vienna.

You must try their schnitzel! - Edit
You must make a reservation. There are many options on the menu. I came specifically to eat schnitzel as the city is famous for its schnitzel. It is served with potato salad on the side. It was very tasty and satisfying. It would be nice if the sauce of the potato salad was a little thicker because it had gone to the bottom of the plate. I also tried tiramisu and nougat dumplings. Desserts were not as good as main course. There was cinnamon in the tiramisu for some reason, and because it was a dominant flavor, the chocolate and coffee taste was very little, maybe another good dessert but not tiramisu, but the consistency was good. The nougat dumplings looked appetizing but the taste was not that good, the dough was thick and sticky. In general, I would recommend you to go. Their house wine is also good. PS: When you leave the restaurant, be prepared for the smell of food that will permeate you, this is the reason I gave four points, it should be better ventilated.

We had the asparagus salad as a starter and Wiener schnitzel and a Kümmelbraten as mains. All were really good - wasn’t blown away but it’s still very good food and really nice to have the option to try something local.

This place is a bit outside the city centre which may put some people off but it's easily accessible with the metro and well worth it. I booked a few hours before via the website. The staff were welcoming and happy to speak English and explain dishes etc. The vegetable broth was nice but wasn't mad about the semolina dumplings. I had never had goulash so was happy to get to try it. There is an overwhelming amount of choice on the menu! Great place to try traditional Austrian food vegan style. Hope to go back if ever visiting the city again and try some other dishes from the menu. Service was really prompt, I couldn't get a table until 8PM which was a little late for me and thought I would be there all night but it worked out perfect because of the good service.

We were really blown away by the (in our opinion) amazingly authentic Wienerschnitzel. Our sides included potatos and salad and we had Kaiserschmarrn as dessert, absolutely delicious. The location is a bit further away from the city center but it's fairly close to Schloss Schönbrunn, a couple of metro stations ahead of it I believe.

I’ve never had Austrian food before because it’s very meat centric. This place has all the classics but veganized! I had the dumplings stuffed with “greave” or something like that it was awesome. We hade the black pudding appetizer and it was 10/10. I wish we had ordered more potato salad as a side. Be sure to check this place out. Close to the Renaissance Hotel.

Absolutely love this place! Super tasty food, great service, good atmosphere. From "Frittatensuppe" (vegetable broth with pancake strips) to Wiener Schnitzel, they offer all the classics. It's really nice to be able to enjoy these meals again after becoming a vegan. Brings back a lot of good memories!

This restaurant offers traditional Austrian food in a vegan version and I’m absolutely in love with it. It has a nice and modern design (not like a traditional Austrian restaurant!) with relatively many seats. You should book a table in advance though, it might be crowded. This works really simple, just visit their website.
Read moreThe food they serve looks really awesome, but they have rather small portions that are relatively expensive. It tastes good, especially the desserts, but it doesn’t taste amazing.
If I’d only rate the food itself, the restaurant would probably get 3 or 4 stars, but sine the staff was absolutely amazing and I like the idea of this restaurant, I obviously had to give it a 5/5.
So you should definitely visit this place if you want to go to an all vegan restaurant with beautiful food, but if you’re searching for awesome taste or if you’re really hungry and don’t want to waste a fortune for rather small amounts of food, maybe you should search another place to eat.

Wir waren ein Wochenende in Wien und wollten gerne traditionelles Wiener/ österreichisches Essen probieren. Als Veganer ist das aber recht schwer… aber hier haben wir traditionelles Essen komplett Vegan bekommen. Wir hatten den Saftgulasch, das Pfeffersteak und die Sachertorte mit Schlagoberst. Alles ein Genuss! Wenn wir mal wieder in Wien sind kommen wir definitiv wieder!

Read moreVorspeisen waren gut - hatten jeweils eine Brühe mit Einlage. Die Grießnockerl und Brühe waren sehr würzig. Die Frittaten waren gut, leider die Brühe etwas lasch und nicht richtig heiß.
Das Schnitzel war Weltklasse. Diese werden auch selbst hergestellt, nicht zugekauft und wurde super ausgebacken. Erdäpfelsalat war auch top.
Die Grammelknödel mit Sauerkraut waren auch sehr schmackhaft - nächste mal gern einen Knödel mehr und dafür weniger Sauerkraut.
