We really enjoyed our visit to this cafe. Very friendly place, the food was freshly made, love it being all vegan. I had a chickpea omelette, all the food my friends had looked really good. Also enjoyed a chocolate dessert. We’ve not found lots of vegan options in cafes in the area so coming here was extra pleasing! Enjoyed their Halloween decorations too!

Big Burgers - Edit
Nice to find a fully Vegan restaurant & a really good selection. I went with 3 others & all the food looked good. I had a triple burger which was impossible to eat, but was ever so tasty & I have no regrets. It had so many great flavours & I felt like they put it together really well. I'll be having dreams about this food in the future.

Lots of vegan options in an area with not many was a great change. The burgers were amazing and the owners were kind and clearly passionate. If you're a vegan it's a must, and I think even non-vegans would love their food.

Up a bit of an incline but worth it! I have the momi burger and my mum had the chickpea omelette. Both really enjoyed our meals and had a good chat with the owner, lovely woman!

Read moreYes, they do offer a heavy selection of meat substitute type dishes which to be fair doesn't bother me. I was going to go for a burger but I opted for the tofu stew as its not something i have made at home. I really enjoyed the mix of veg in the stew as well as the creamy sauce it was served in. The portion was huge so i struggled to finish it and sadly as a result had to pass on the chance of dessert.
Luckily we read somewhere before we arrived the wc was out of order so we made sure we had a comfort stop before arrival!

I returned again a few days later and chose the Portugese Omelette as i was intrigued. It was made from chickpeas but how i'm not sure. It contained onions and vegan cheese. It was tasty to my palate but beaten by the size of portion. Omelette was devoured though.

A bit hit or miss - Edit
I've been to Veggie Momi several times over the years with mixed experiences. Sometimes the staff are really friendly, sometimes purposefully rude. The menu is fine but generally a bit boring - mostly just store-bought fake meat and cheese in wraps or burgers with a mountain of what looks like store-bought salad and crisps. Nice enough, but nothing particularly exiting. The Stroganoff/curries/stews are usually tasty and a bit more interesting.
Read moreHowever, the lasagne is one of the worst vegan meals I've ever eaten - it seemed to just be totally unseasoned chunks of jackfruit thrown into a bland tomato sauce with some pasta sheets and far too much gloopy sticky vegan cheese.
On the flip side, they occasionally do daily specials based on traditional Portuguese dishes which are delicious! I had an amazing Portuguese Feijoadas dish here once and my partner had a vegan version of a traditional seabass dish that we both still talk about.
Unfortunately, there are other vegan cafes in Albufeira doing more interesting and consistently good food.
My recommendation to the owner would be to focus on more fresh, homemade dishes and ingredients and less on fake meats and cheese. There's also no need to pad out dishes with random crisps and mountains of store-bought plain salad.
Pros: All vegan, Generally nice food, if a bit boring, Daily specials can be really tasty
Cons: Staff aren't always very friendly or quick, Not very inventive or interesting food, Occasionally bad food

Never think it cant get worse... Got injured !!! - Edit
If i could put one star only, i would do it. We had high expectations after seeing the reviews. But everything was mid or horrible. The starter, chorizo, was okay. The wrap was a little bit too salty but fine. The skewers on the other end, omg... So salty we couldn't eat them (and we're supposed to be used to salty food !!) we asked them to redo the dish. We think they just rinced one and redid the other. But the worse is to come... We got pastel de nata, were told that they were still a little hot. I litteraly burnt my hand with it, i had cream everywhere and couldn't remove it since they don't have WC. I went inside almost crying and the waiter gave me soothing cream. But the owner didn't even react, she didn't care that a client got injured because of the food she cook ???? We paid full price, 50€ for a mid meal that injured me, don't go there...

the food was absolutely amazing, we had the curry and burgers (two times) and it was so delicious. the mum and the son, who own the restaurant, were so sweet and gifted me a dessert on my last day 🥹 can only recommend!!

I had one of the Burgers and I absolutely LOVED it!! The burger itself was very tasty, lots of toppings, with a vinaigrette salad on the side and sweet potato crisps. And for dessert a pastel de nata which we loved. Everything else looked amazing too, makes me want to go back for another holiday to try more of their menu😂super friendly staff as well, very happy to have stopped by for a meal. Would 100% recommend and go back again if I'm ever in Albufeira again! 💚💚💚

Wir hatten eine Vorspeise, einen Burger und einen Wrap, sowie zwei unterschiedliche Desserts, was alles sehr lecker war.
Die Betreiberin setzt sich aktiv für Tierschutz ein, unterstützt auch lokale Tierschutzvereine und verbreitet ein bisschen vegane Essenskultur in den ländlicheren Gegenden von Portugal. Man wird sehr herzlich aufgenommen.
Wir kommen bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Albufeira sicher wieder!

I loved that this place puts animal rights front and centre on the walls and with leaflets on the tables. However, we did not really enjoy the food and it was very expensive.

My husband and son had the burgers. They enjoyed them but disliked the accompanying sweet potato chips (crisps). These were oven-baked and unseasoned - not the ideal accompaniment to an indulgent burger. If you're charging €18 for a burger, you should really offer fries. The burger bun was very low quality.

Wonderful food. We tried lasagna, stroganoff, the burger and the omelet. The great thing is that this is vegan food prepared by a very knowledgeable chef. So Monica knows how to make cheese sauces and perfect coconut cream desserts.

The veggie momi herself is such a welcoming and lovely woman, along with being an incredible chef, so this place MUST be on your to do list as a vegan visiting in the Algarve! She made me, my wife and our baby girl feel so at home with the food and vibes, we cannot fault a single thing about this place. We had the chorizo, no-chicken burger, stroganoff, the 2 juices the 2 cakes and everything was top notch! It’s great to see someone who has a truly ethical vegan outlook doing what she does (in an area which is very touristy) and she should be supported for doing so, so don’t miss out!

We spent 3 days in Albufera and came here every day. The owner and her son are insanely nice, I felt so welcomed and save there. Also the food is great, when you are lucky there is fresh pastel de Nata and you have to try it.

We came back this year after a heartwarming experience last year. It’s admirable how dedicated mother and son make the vegan dinners. Each dish has a story and they love to tell you all about the food. The portions are very generous and taste nice. The homemade pastries are amazing so if you’re looking for a dessert, this is the place!
