Tiny but great store! - Edit
Probably the best shop in BC to stock up on your vegan supplies. The store is small but packed with anything you can think of, including many items you would hardly get elsewhere. They also have cookies and cinnamon buns at the counter - so yummy!

LOVE their products, BUT... major issue with expired/old food - Edit
We have been in person, but mostly order via mail for over 6 years now because we're not in the lower mainland. For the most part, things are fine, orders have gone well and are correct. Some products come pretty close to the expiration date, so you have things like chocolate bloom or things getting stale. We have never complained, we just eat it no big deal. But the most recent order has made things go from 5/5 to ... this 2 being generous.
Read moreWe had a couple *refrigerated products* sent to us WAY expired (expiration was weeks before it was even shipped to us). Creamy sauce/dip. I noticed because the plastic packaging was bulging, which is never a good sign. We had just received it by mail, too, so I looked at the date and it had expired a couple months before. Not what I was expecting and I was grossed out having eaten the other earlier in the week.
I dunno about other humans, but I have enough sense not to eat a creamy sauce that is bulging in the fridge. I'm also kicking myself that I trusted them to not check the expiration on the other package (I ate it right away after it arrived... but it woulda been expired).
No problem, contact Vegan Supply - honest mistake. Right? Whelp, they basically told us to go away because it was a sale product and "should be fine" even if it's well expired prior to being shipped. Yes, we noted that it was well past expired before they even shipped it, and it's bulging in our fridge, but they would not issue any refunds.
Really lost any confidence in ordering fresh items from them again. I think they forget that we cannot make these choices when ordering mail order. If you are planning on selling well expired fridge items, AT LEAST be clear they might be well expired so we can choose how to spend our money. Especially when it's so darn expensive to have this stuff shipped!
STRONGLY do not recommend ordering fresh food from Vegan Supply. But outside of that? Good stuff to be found.
Pros: Great vegan selections, Items you cannot find elsewhere, Convienient ordering
Cons: Sells expired refrigerated items on purpose, Risky to order from via mail, Do not order fresh items via mail

Wow - isn’t it illegal to SELL expired items of any sort in Canada?

My Personal Fav - Edit
I’ve been shopping here since I moved to Chinatown during the pandemic. I love that they carry local brands some from other places, and there’s a wide variety of items, and price ranges for everyone. Their clearance section always has great products and they reduce the prices well. I also love that I can purchase a donut at the counter. Everything is vegan so you don’t have to think twice.

I appreciate them having a store dedicated to veganism beyond just food. Lots of clothing, accessories, donation to local farms, stickers, and pins. I got some creatine gummies and protein powder that I’m excited to try.

So many options! - Edit
Being in an all vegan grocery store is truly like being like a kid in a candy shop! I kept hearing I needed to check this place out, and I'm so glad I did last weekend. So many options, found lots of familiar favourites as well some new vegan products I hadn't seen before! They also have a cute little section with some vegan shirts/buttons/stickers, and I believe a few vegan pastries as well.

great selection - Edit
So much fun to try some less common vegan substitutes that I haven't seen in the U.S., as well as some staples and favorites that I'm already familiar with. A nice mix of treats, pantry, fridge, and frozen items.

Never been to an all vegan grocery store before. There was a large freezer and refrigerated section, midsized pantry area, and vegan merch. Never seen so many vegan dairy options in one spot!!

All vegan store! - Edit
All vegan grocery store offering dried goods, snacks, refrigerated, and frozen items. They also have stickers, some shirts, as well as a bakery case of fresh items of the day. I tried the barbecue pork bun. A good selection of vegan items… would you all be able to carry/order UK style vegan sausages please? I really missed those. Best of all: they have the loveraw brand of chocolates I’ve only ever seen in the UK. They are like the Ferro Roche, but better! Roughly about once a month, they will deliver items you order online via their website to Victoria BC so you could pick up there if that’s closer to you.

Great selection & well organized - Edit
We loaded up on vegan cheese during our visit to bring back to Calgary. They even sold us frozen ice packs. The best spot to get vegan specialty items all one location. Lots of frozen, refrigerated and shelf stable items. Terrific selection of faux meats, cheeze, chocolate, snacks, baking supplies etc. Cute vegan t shirts and stickers too. Came back in 2024 and it’s still amazing! So much great vegan chocolate and juicy marble steaks!

So much fun stuff!!!! - Edit
Nothing better than a store where reading labels isn’t the priority. Wonderful selection of something for everyone. Good selection of cheese. Display case of scrumptious baked good and pastries. We got a “pizza pretzel” (covered in cheese) and a cheese kale croissant, which we forgot to take picture of, but were really yummy.

Nice but awful online service - Edit
Im glad they exist but their online service is pretty awful. The delivery fee is more expensive than any service I know in Vancouver, they make you pay extra for ice packs when you get frozen grocery but it always arrive warm…

I have online window shopped so many times, it was great being able to go in person. Like 98% of vegan businesses, it is a street back from a rough neighbourhood, but totally worth it. Vast selection of vegan food, drink, clothes, you name it! The team was beyond friendly and helpful.

Shopping is a joy - Edit
My first time shopping in person at Vegan Supply, following a few online orders. This Chinatown location is a good-sized store. It's a joy to shop where everything is vegan! I find the prices on the high side, but there are so many products to choose from that I am usually willing to pay. There were some fresh baked goods on offer as well as the range of chilled, frozen and packaged products. Good selection of vegan cheeses. Also, buttons, Sea Shepherd shirts and gift items.

100% vegan - wow - Edit
This shop is a "dream come true" - just imagine going into a supermarket and NOT having to read each and every label... The prices are on the "high side" but still - I'd much rather pay extra and support this shop than pay less to a non-vegan place. They often have good promotions and the staff is very friendly. It's not easy for me to get there but I love shopping there!

NOT 100% Vegan - Edit
Okay guys, this place is great, you get awesome vegan things here BUT, please check the ingredients, it depends on your ethics, but I personally dislike anything that has "may contain eggs or milk" in vegan stuff. Also, you'll find in the small prints that some products are made on the same machine that handled "milk and/ or eggs" - so please be mindful.
Read moreMy mistake but I went away with 4 chocolate bars that had the above listed - so frustrated.
I have also realised that some of the prices have been marked-up compared to for example, Save on Food.
It's a great place, they have vegan belts! Came away will some vegan chocolates and they were delicious, and they have PESTO! The pesto on the shelf has "may contain milk" if I recall, but the pesto in a tub in the fridge is vegan and so goooood.
Also, please buy the lentil chips, they are the best!
Came here to look at the chocolate bars again, they've done a great thing in stocking new bars that are actually vegan in my eyes, no "may contain", so that was lovely.
The "no whey" bar was delicious!
Updated from previous review on 2019-10-15
Pros: PESTO
Cons: Several items have "may contain" unwanted extras.., PRICEY, especially the chocolates.
BadassJB
You're joking right? 'May contain' is a disclaimer manufacturers have to put in order to avoid lawsuits from people with allergies. This does not mean these foods contain these ingredients, just that they were manufactured in the same facility that these common allergies exist in. They sterilise the equipment with 200ºc+ water between processing. If you want vegan supply to only carry 'vegan' food, then the shelves will be barren as it's most cost effective to share manufacturing facilities to produce products.
