Eccomi al Cairo in Egitto da un giorno e subito ho voluto provare un ristorante abbastanza rinomato e ora so perché. Il Vegan at our home, ristorante dell'hotel Pearl a Maadi è accogliente, ha un piccolo dehors piacevole, servizio attento e premuroso, una carta da far invidia a tanti altri ristoranti e ottimi prezzi. Noi abbiamo scelto la zuppa di lenticchie (WOW) fagiolini verdi in salsa di pomodoro con riso 🍚 patate aromatizzate al forno e wrap 🌯 di faux chicken con patatine fritte e insalata. Tutto ottimo

Sul loro sito trovate tutto il menù, purtroppo le mie foto non sono complete ma era tutto così buono che ci siamo letteralmente tuffati sui piatti.
Il venerdì organizzano il buffet con musica dal vivo sul rooftop dell'hotel. Noi siamo già impegnati altrove, spero ci sia qualche vegano all'ascolto che possa approfittarne.

Read moreThey market themselves as fully vegan. I went and I ordered the lasagna. The cheese on top looked like it was dairy so I specifically asked, waiter said they were certain it was vegan. Then I asked what the cream was made of, they couldn't answer and told me they can bring me the cream package to see for myself that it's vegan. After that answer I said it was no problem and did not check and just ate, thinking it was maybe made using hydrogenated fats or something I'm not familiar with. Then the manager showed up asking if everything was in order, so I asked what the cream is made of. They replied that it's a vegan cream imported from Germany. Since I live in Germany I asked them to show me it out of curiousity. And there it was. Ingredients: Dairy buttermilk with added vegetable fats.
When I confronted them they said they will look into it "since some people care so much about those details".
I later got digestive trouble that took a couple of hours and a pill to resolve.

Nice vegan restaurant, lovely terrace. Mix of options, some very western and some more traditional like lentil soup. Not the best food but good enough.

it was a little out the way from where we were staying but honestly didn't mind the commute to get guaranteed vegan food with no hassle. Staff were friendly and helpful and the menu had so many options we got some to take home with us too!
Read moreThe pizza was great, I would be interested to know what cheese they use because it's incredibly cheesy and stringy it had me second guessing myself tbh! the nuggets were tasty but be warned, if you're expecting a faux meat seitan type nug you will be disappointed, this is more like a vegetable fritter. still tasty but definitely was expecting it to be faux chicken like what was on the pizza. My partner had the spring rolls and Alfredo pasta and was happy with everything.
All in all not bad options, decent portions and nice to have a stress free option in Cairo.

This is one of the hotels which offers vegan food with a tiny twist on their signs outside with tiny words “vegan in our house” on one side and “VIA 82” on the other. I suppose for the business purposes to attract all the customers with different dietary choices. I had a mushroom burger (just a few saultéd mushroom with veg patty actually) veg soup (tiny cup of soup) and 4 veg spring rolls. It’s okay, nothing spectacular to be honest. I even think the bean patty tasted a bit old with overused oils… A bit on the pricy side.

I got used to visiting casual vegan restaurants and I also was expecting this place to be the same. A classy, nice place. Had Mousakka(with rice), lasagna and mushroom pizza. They were all good with affordable prices.
Read moreIt's a bit far away so, I wouldn't choose to go there without the knowledge of this restaurant. However the neighbourhood was developed rather than the downtown Cairo. I felt safe.

I visited here when I was in Cairo based off recommendations on Happy Cow. The menu was fantastic, lots of different options from a variety of cuisines. It was all very inexpensive. Service was excellent, very friendly staff.

We were hesitant to go to this restaurant at first since the photos in here did not look the best xD. But we decided to give it a chance since it is the one and only vegan restaurant in Cairo and we really enjoyed it! It is a classic case of vegans making vegan food better than anyone else😄

Came across this when stopping by Maadi. The restaurant is adjoining a hotel and is actually two in one - one fully vegan and another that offers non-vegan options. We had vegan beef fajitas and vegan chicken pizza which were both delicious. Service and environment were really nice and the price was good too. #Veganuary

I highly recommend Vegan in Our House! The fully vegan menu offers a diverse range of delicious dishes. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere is calm and pleasant. With a big menu to choose from, the restaurant provides excellent value for money.

Oasis in Cairo - Edit
Set in a quiet location away from the noise of cars and people. Food was delicious and it was a comfort to be able to truly relax and trust that something was vegan. They also offer delivery if you don’t want to leave your hotel.

We had the lasagna and homemade cheeseburger and it was delicious. We sat outside on the terrace, closed by beautiful plants. Definitely recommended. Our waiter Mohammed Khaled was very friendly.
