So much more than words can transmit - Edit
One of the ultimate stand out vegan places I’ve ever been to in my life. The three of us had their famous £22 Sunday Roast extravaganza each selecting a different meat (roast chicken, lamb and turkey). You are also provided with a Yorkshire Pudding then it’s self-service vegetables and all the usual trimmings such as sauces, stuffing and lashings of gravy. I had a bit of everything, piled my plate high then proceeded to devour the whole feast with a pint of their delicious Posh Lager overlooking Petticoat Lane Market. Not a bad way to spend an early Sunday afternoon before hitting The Oval for some T20 cricket action.

Tofish & Chips - Edit
I’ve been super excited to try this place! First we tried the vegan calamari which was great. A little saltier than expected but I did enjoy it. I tried the Oreo chocolate shake and that was a 10/10. I’ve been wanting to try vegan fish and chips as I heard this place was good for it. I felt like the dish was good but not as accurate for the taste of traditional fish and chips. But the dish itself was really good and I enjoyed the use of seitan. Maybe a little in the greasy side. Service was nice! Definitely would go again!

Fully vegan with a great range of food. We had pornstar martinis which were incredible. Burgers were good and the chocolate cake and honeycomb cake were delicious.

Nice all vegan food - Edit
Was our second time there, we had the mozzarella sticks which were very nice, the Döner loaded chips and the chicken Cesar salad. The salad was really good! It wasn’t super busy but the few staff were quite busy.

We had the tofish and a vegan hotdog – both were seriously tasty. The tofish was crispy and flavorful, and the hotdog was loaded and really satisfying.

Sunday Carvery - Edit
We were a little disappointed because the food was very expensive and they had run out of potatoes and carrots by the time we got to the restaurant at 7 pm. We were also automatically charged a 12% service fee, which made the already very expensive food even more expensive and we paid 60£ for two plates and two drinks.
Read moreSo even though I think the food is worth trying, I don't think it's worth the price.
Pros: friendly people, impressive meat replacement
Cons: very expensive, 12% service fee, no potatoes and carrots

Overpriced for what it is - Edit
Unfortunately it’s not worth the hype after they reopened the restaurant again.
Read moreUpdated from previous review: last time we went, there were 3D printed steaks which were mind blowing. They have since removed them from the menu and added a 3D printed Salmon which I have tried. The taste is fishy but the texture was like chicken. It’s also quite a small main in comparison to what they had before for mains. I was told the burger is very good still, and the Sunday roast on Sunday is very nice. People who tried other things also told me they were okay, nothing special. so I think it’s worth going if you’d like to try those but some dishes are expensive and somewhat disappointing. I paid £43 for a main, a drink and a dessert and felt like it was too much for what I had.

Among the best vegan dinners in London - Edit
Unity Diner has the best food of anywhere I’ve visited in London at this price. Particularly loved the tofish and chips, and the Sunday roast was a standout with a buffet of four different vegan meats on offer. That night they even gave us a takeaway box so we had a great lunch for the next day and the food didn’t go to waste.
Read moreIt’s also a non-profit notably co-founded by Ed Winters with 50% of profits going directly towards Surge Sanctuary in Nottinghamshire. Nice to know the great food is supporting a great cause.

Nice place for ‘heavy’ vegan food - Edit
I’m happy I managed to visit this diner twice, but unfortunately they didn’t have the ‘steak’ Wellington and the ‘salmon’ when I was there. However, I did enjoy my meals. The portions were large and the food was rather heavy due to the abundant use of oils.

Wildly overrated - Edit
Booked this 2 month in advance for our anniversary. Got there and got forgotten about as “our table wasn’t ready”. The same waitress had to ask us twice and had completely forgotten she had already spoken to us.
Read moreGot sat on a table which felt like in the middle of the walkway. No room what so ever. Sat horizontally across the back of other tables where people were trying to get in and out. Really in the way.
Sat at the table and the waitress walked off. Sat there wondering what was happened. Next one walked up, asked if we’d like any drinks. No instruction that the menu is via QR code, just sort of expected to know what was happening
Food was bland and tasteless
No salt on the tables
Self serve Sunday dinner but £10 service charge…for what?!?
Really unimpressed about the entire situation.

Lovely Sunday Roast - Edit
Friendly helpful staff, help yourself veggies - buffet style. Great tasting food. I had the chicken and my gf had the lamb. Both were nice. We filled our plates and ate everything on them - I detest food waste. Sadly too full to manage seconds on the veggies or dessert. Highly recommended. Easy to find near to Liverpool St Station/ Brick Lane.

Good but not ‘amazing’ - Edit
Our first visit to Unity was great. We went specifically to try the vegan doner and we were not disappointed. It was better than expected. However, our 2nd visit was not so great. This time we had a doner bowl and the Tofish and Chips. The service was very slow (we had to chase or order) and the ‘Tofish’ was a complete let-down. All I could taste was the overcooked batter. We had originally planned to go back again for a carvery but we’ll probably give it a miss now.

Amazing Carvery - Edit
Went for the carvery and it was PERFECT. It was actually everything we could ask for, the trimmings were constantly being topped up so everything was super fresh and hot. Lovely desserts too. Very, very good value and money towards an animal sanctuary. Might actually be the perfect vegan restaurant.
