So much more than words can transmit - Edit
One of the ultimate stand out vegan places I’ve ever been to in my life. The three of us had their famous £22 Sunday Roast extravaganza each selecting a different meat (roast chicken, lamb and turkey). You are also provided with a Yorkshire Pudding then it’s self-service vegetables and all the usual trimmings such as sauces, stuffing and lashings of gravy. I had a bit of everything, piled my plate high then proceeded to devour the whole feast with a pint of their delicious Posh Lager overlooking Petticoat Lane Market. Not a bad way to spend an early Sunday afternoon before hitting The Oval for some T20 cricket action.

Good food but way to pricey for the quality - Edit
The food is good/average. It’s a buffet and everything seems to be made from scratch. The costs for the food is always 22.5 Pounds which is only worth it when you go several times. The given portion of the main dish is really small. The rest are mostly simply vegetables. It does taste good but in comparison for me it was too expensive.

a bit underwhelming - Edit
We tried their popular tofish & chips as well as the calamari. I've never had real fish and chips so I don't know what it's supposed to taste like but there was some sweetness to the fish I didn't really like. However, both the pea dip and the dill dip that were served along with it were very delicious! The calamari were good, the house lemonades were good too but tasted less natural than expected, more like mocktails. The staff was kind, the ambiance was alright, though there was a strange smell by the entrance

The best vegan food I've eaten .. - Edit
.. and I've eaten at vegan restaurants both in the UK and in many European cities. At Unity Diner I normally visit on a Saturday so choose dishes from their a la carte menu, but I've also visited on a Sunday and enjoyed their Sunday buffet (vegan versions of a Sunday roast - self service, eat as much as you like.) Service is always friendly and helpful, maybe not always as quick as I'd like but worth waiting for.

Nice food - Edit
Overall nice food, some dishes are great and others are ok but not fantastic. It’s also a bit smelly inside (smells like their extractor fan isn’t working hard enough). But I really like going here

Carvery to live for - Edit
Everyone talks about how great Unity diner is, so I assumed it would be a bit overrated. How wrong I was. This place is incredible!!! We went on Sunday for the carvery and the amount of choice was amazing. If you are indecisive, this might not be the place for you - or you will need a massive plate.

Fast Food - Edit

Good wide range - Edit
I absolutely loved the wide range of food available at Unity Diner. The milkshake and sundae were excellent!!! The main food was great too, but I think I expected a little bit better quality/realistic fake meat than was served. The cheese in the mozzarella sticks was also a bit sweet, I would’ve preferred it to be saltier. It was still really tasty though. I’d definitely come back, even just for another milkshake.

Sunday - Edit
I came here during Sunday during the buffet when there was not an a la carte option from the menu. The food was great but didn't think it was a great value especially with all the service charges, etc.

It was good - Edit
I liked the place and the atmosphere, the staff was kind and helpful, and i also liked that they charge 50p per person for the Surge Sanctuary, by default. I was really in a "take my money" mood 😂 However, I was a little disappointed with food 😔 i got the tofish and chips and it was just too much for me: too greasy (and I love fried food!), the portion too big, I had some stomach problems later in the evening... I dont know, it just didn't go through properly 😭😭😭 And i could only eat half of it. However the biskoff Sundae was amazing (I almost didn't order it cause I was so full after half of my plate). I'm glad I ordered it eventually.

Great tofish&chips - Edit
so exciting to find vegan fish& chips so we didn’t miss out on a classic while in the uk! weirdly enough maps did take us to the back entrance (and we saw a few others have the same situation too) but it was no problem! We got mozzarella sticks, potato salad, caesar salad, and the tofish and chips. it was all excellent! the mozz sticks are two big sticks so if you’re sharing with multiple people, i would get a few orders. they were divine and came with a great sweet jalapeno sauce we loved. the tofish and chips was so good and interesting how they can kind of create such a cool texture with the tofu!

Nice food - Edit
Food is good , but there are other places much more tastier than them for that the 4 stars. If you travel with non vegan people I would suggest other places.
Read moreSome items on the menu were missing and our waitress wasn’t very good.
Mozzarella stick needs to be smaller as the cheese is not really melting. Chips super good but unfortunately there was oil in bottom of our bowl.

All vegan restaurant! - Edit
The restaurant was full-booked but they agreed to sell to go. We ate the food near at the park. We ate tofu fish and chips which came with the mushy peas. They were delicious. Our friend ate caesar salad and loved it. I also drank oreo milkshake which was amazing! We loved that there were many vegan stuff on the walls.

Exceptionally tasty vegan food - Edit
We had a nice selection of different dishes. The mozzarella sticks were very good, the unity burger was tasty but the truffle fries and the steak Wellington were impeccable. The salted caramel cake was a nice way to round it off. The staff was super nice and friendly. Definitely a place to check out when in East London.

The best vegan foid - Edit
The menu here is incredible. Some of the best vegan food I've had. Very hard to choose. We had oyster mushroom skewers, classic doner, hot dog, chunky chips, slaw followed by the chai creme brulee. All the food was flavoursome and delicious. Staff were great. I can't wait to go back, especially for the Sunday carvery.

Great dinner! - Edit
Great little restaurant! All vegan menu. My wife got the doner bowl, and I had the Wellington. The Wellington was out of this world! I have had 3 vegan steak-type substitutes in the last year that were awesome. One was at the Botanist in Zadar, the other was in a crazy expensive place in Zurich, and the third one was tonight! We shared a chocolate cake for dessert, and they brought us a milkshake for "forgetting about us," but service was very good, so I'm confused?!
Read moreAn improvement to the Wellington would be to include a piece of bread. The merlot was a little bit vinegar-flavored. At another restaurant, I would have sent it back.

Not to be missed - Edit
Update April 2026: Visited the new restaurant, which is also kept in a stylish, upmarket diner style. The raspberry cheesecake milkshake was amazing. We also had the Tofish and chips which comes with mushy peas and a kebab bowl, which has plenty of fresh salad and veg.
Read moreFinally managed to come here and because it was a workday afternoon, the diner was not packed as on all the other occassions I tried to nip in for a quick lunch or snack previously.
We had the loaded nachos, a burger and the caesar salad. All very good, although despite opting for the salad, I did not have any room left for the cheese cake. So, beware of the size of the salad.
