So much more than words can transmit

One of the ultimate stand out vegan places I’ve ever been to in my life. The three of us had their famous £22 Sunday Roast extravaganza each selecting a different meat (roast chicken, lamb and turkey). You are also provided with a Yorkshire Pudding then it’s self-service vegetables and all the usual trimmings such as sauces, stuffing and lashings of gravy. I had a bit of everything, piled my plate high then proceeded to devour the whole feast with a pint of their delicious Posh Lager overlooking Petticoat Lane Market. Not a bad way to spend an early Sunday afternoon before hitting The Oval for some T20 cricket action.

Pros: Amazing food , Wonderful staff , Ethical interior

A gem!

This has a lot of cool items on the menu. I had the Steak 2.0, with veg. The broccolini came out a bit cold and I wish there had been a gravy, so that's why I'm not giving full five stars. It tastes good, though, and the staff was very friendly.

Loved the vegan carvery!

What a treat to have a sunday roast with all the trimmings AND a Yorkshire pudding - which was the best I've had since being vegan!

You choose your main and yorkie then can go up as many times as you like for the sides and trimmings.

So much to choose from, not just your usual veggies but cauliflower cheese, gratin and even crackling!

Also loved the pineapple lemonade which was refreshing to wash down the roast.

Staff were super friendly, the perfect Sunday afternoon!

Great place for dinner

Menu and space has an elevated feel, but not fine dining. The Steak 2.0 is apparently 3-D printed w/ various vegan proteins, sort of Meati-style but not mushroom based. Served with some twice fried style potatos and an oily sauce. It was good, but lacked distinguishing flavor. What made this 5 stars was the drink ‘Piers Morgan’s tears’ , I had the N/A version, super good, not a gut bomb like many mocktails can be. Relaxed, friendly service. Thank you!

Pros: All vegan!, Great bartender & actually good N/A options, Friendly, relaxed service

Best fish and chips ever! This place is amazing

I knew this place was going to be good, but I didn’t know it would be this good. I loved everything I got here and they have a great menu. The service is also wonderful and I like the decor, it’s chill but nice inside. It’s perfect!

Pros: Fish and chips, Red velvet latte

Veganised “normal food” done well!

Great service and meeting on arrival ! A menu that really caters for all ! We had the bacon burger and tofish and chips with a side of cheesy chips - the chunky chips are SO GOOD! Would highly recommend! Also a small donation goes to an animal sanctuary on your bill - a great touch!!

Pros: Service, Donation to animal sanctuary , Great menu variety !

Great fish and chips and mocktails

Went here for some vegan fish and chips and I loved it. My husband and I debated on the best vegan fish and chips in London and I think it was here. We also had the side lobster mac and cheese which I thought was good but a little to rich for me, especially after fish and chips. The cocktails were fantastic. I had my eye on a sticky toffee pudding, but sadly no stomach capacity. Lost opportunity:(.

Pros: Delicious mocktails and food, Friendly staff

Cons: Location was a bit away

Undoubtedly tasty, but so expensive

I had three small plates (prawnz, popcorn chickn and mushroom skewer) and while they were all very good and kept me full for much longer than I expected I am still shocked that all of this plus a still water cost me like 25 pounds. I get that these ingredients are expensive but honestly that is really not affordable for many people. I would certainly recommend it tho for a special occasion and I might even try the Sunday brunch at some point.

Very good but very pricey

The food is extraordinary good and very special, never saw so good options on a vegan menu before. But only because of the high prices one star less.

Vibes

The diner felt relaxed, but not a greasy spoon. I got the fish but no chips, and was glad I did so I’d have room for sticky toffee pudding.

Disappointing

Have enjoyed Unity Diner a few times but our most recent visit for dinner on Saturday was very disappointing. The restaurant was full but there were only two waiting staff meaning service was slow . To start we had the Crispy Tofish Bites and the Charred Prawn Skewers which were OK. For mains we had the Steak 2.0 and the Salmon 2.0 dishes. There was very little 'steak' on the plate and the 'garlicky greens' didn't taste very nice. The roast potatoes on both plates were rock hard. We visited to celebrate a birthday however despite mentioning this on the booking it was not acknowledged in any way. I fully support Unity Diner as a vegan business and I fully support them raising money for Surge Sanctuary, but they need to do better if they want repeat custom.

Amazing selection

It’s amazing to go somewhere with so much choice and overall the food was lovely, especially the tofish and chips. The pistachio sharing dessert was slightly disappointing but the soft serve ice cream made up for it. Would definitely recommend a visit and I’d like to go back to try some other things on the menu.

Pros: Great selection

Cons: Expensive

Amazing

I was really looking forward to my visit here after reading such fabulous reviews and I was not disappointed. My experience was even better than I anticipated. The interior combines a stylish environment with pro vegan/ animal pictures and messages to perfection.

We were lucky to visit on a Sunday for the roast which was out of this world, the choice was phenomenal and the taste was so good, I’ll be dreaming about it for a very long time.

I think the cost of meals and drinks is reasonable for London, particularly for the quality of food and service. The staff are lovely, helpful and passionate.

In summary I love this place and really want /need to go back.

Be careful when paying!!!! They steal money !

We went for Sunday roast couple of months ago
Asked for splitting the bill 3 ways, it was £90
First person paid £30, then machine ' broke' , so waitress brought second one...
Deep in conversation we simply taped cards....just to realise next day both of us who paid latter we paid £45 .
Wrote to restaurant, was promised refound...but after weeks of reminding them now they don't reply and no refound been made.

So make sure you check what you paying!!!

Pros: Self service on weekend

Cons: Stealing money

Thriving vegan diner

A thriving spot proud to be vegan. Staff were friendly and a pleasant experience all round.
We tried the mooli and smoky bacon, 3D printed salmon and double bacon burger for mains and each dish was delicious! An unfamiliar experience of meaty meals that were thoroughly enjoyed. The salmon tasted just like the real thing despite a slight texture difference! The burger was a little messy to eat but delicious and the mooli was new for us but the smoky bacon made the dish. The side vegetables were crispy and well flavoured.
We also had desserts including the special of sticky toffee pudding, a chocolate torte and a gin and raspberry cheesecake. The cheesecake was especially delicious!

Pros: Delicious food, Non-profit and donations to animal sanctuary, Friendly staff

Really great vegan restaurant. We went for the Sunday carvery and it was so good. Make sure you make a reservation for this though, as it usually gets fully booked.

Pros: Great selection at the carvery, Friendly staff

Cons: A little bit pricey

The best Sunday roast everrrrr

Came here with a friend for Sunday Roast - it's a buffet style with fake meats, mushroom Wellington and nut roast. It also had the most amazing Veggies like Cauliflower cheese, leak and pea gratin. A Yorkshire pudding and gravy!

The revenue goes to an Animal Sanctuary that the 4 owners had created called Surge Sanctuary. They also support The Hackney Gardeners project.

Sooo good and would thoroughly recommend.

Pros: Its a Non-Profit, The creativity of the food
