Great for mixed groups

Several clearly marked vegan options. Teriyaki quinoa bowl was very good. Full bar and brunch on the weekends. Has a vegan pizza option too

Pretty tasty

Really nice restaurant and area, but would prob not go back for those prices. Not very filling even after adding tofu for $5 which they skimped on

Pros: Some solid vegan options

Cons: Serves animals, Not worth it if you're not wealthy

Truly Barely Par

The food was good, especially the vegan double cheeseburger, but honestly it was disconcerting to be spending over $120 on a meal for 3 vegans while hoping that we could get out of there before the next table’s grass-fed stake arrives. I’d rather patronize a restaurant that caters to those that value the well-being of animals more than or at least as much as their own health and well-being. It just doesn’t feel very virtuous to me. Also the vegan quinoa dish was very oily and the avocado slice was partly brown before getting to the table. Vegans should look elsewhere.

Pros: Close to us

Cons: Expensive , Very few vegan options

Delicious vegan options

I try to go here at least once a week. They have wonderful vegan options that sometimes get rotated seasonally. They usually have a vegan pizza made with their house made ricotta cheese. They also have a yummy veggie burger and always a great vegan dessert. Good coffee too!

Love the seasonal vegan options

We love the fall menu at True food. The squash pizza w almond ricotta is really tasty! They have gluten free options as well. The gluten free vegan choc chip cookies were AMAZING!

Too oily

I appreciate that they try to have creative dishes with variety but it’s still not health food because it’s too oily! Every dish :(

Tasty

The Korean bowl was flavorful, kale salad had good dressing. Edamame dumplings and cauliflower polenta were popular with my non vegan family. Butternut squash soup was tasty but a bit too sweet for my taste.

The best dish of all was the vegan pizza with squash and almond ricotta!

Totally recommend it 👌

From the moment you walk-in you feel the good atmosphere with all the open space, high ceiling, layout and decoration. I went to celebrate my bday with a group of friends, and we all enjoyed the drinks, food, atmosphere and the service was great!
I ordered the Unbeetable Burger (beet, kuzu, jicama slaw, crushed avocado, butter lettuce, vegan mayonnaise, flaxseed bun) with sweet potato hash... I mean, it was beyond d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s 😋 totally recommend it 👌
Had a great time and I will definitely be back to try something different

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Seasonal menu, Good prices

Terrific

Excellent food in a bustling atmosphere. I’ve been to several different True Foods locations and love the atmosphere and the variety of vegan options from hearty salads to soups to pizza. The cauliflower appetizer should not be missed!!

Pros: Interesting vegan options, Healthy items

Cons: Would like to see more vegan options.

Excellent Vegan Options

I would give this place four stars if there was a higher proportion of vegan options on the menu. My go-to dishes have been the Ancient Grains and the Kale Guacamole- both are amazing.

The Truth Comes Out

True Food Kitchen provides indoor and outdoor dining where there are plenty of food options for anyone.

Pros: The juices are good, Seasonal vegan meals had great vegetables, Can dine with vegans and nonvegans

Cons: Offers tofu, Terrible indoor acoustics challenges conversations, Servers take a while to return to the table

Vegan options yay!

There were just a few vegan options, but I had the TLT sandwich with sweet potatoes. It was very good and flavorful! Being in South Coast Plaza, you have to kind of expect it to be pricey. Cute atmosphere, however more veg options would be nice! Also didn't see any vegan options for happy hour only vegetarian. Probably would still try this place again some day though:)

Slightly Overrated

I'd like to see more vegan options on the menu. The crudite platter is impressive and can serve as an appetizer or an entire vegan meal, although some of the dipping sauces are not vegan, so you have to specify. The tofu and rice bowl is very good and is my go-to meal. The portion sizes are good as is the service. I think it's a missed opportunity to have something called "True Food" without having more plant-based options.

Pros: friendly staff, good atmoshphere, good plating and presentation

Cons: not enough vegan options

Good food, but little for the vegan

Pricy but tasty and healthy food serves at Fashion Island. It is a good place for meat eaters and vegetarians to break bread together, but us vegans have few satisfying choices.

Pros: Healthy, Good meat and veggie choices

Cons: Expensive, Few vegan choices

Nice place

This place has good healthy food. Prices are high, but the TLT (tempeh lettuce tomato) isn't too expensive and is tasty. Location is in the parking area for fashion island which is a nice outdoor mall. Will go back and try more things.

Pros: Food

Cons: Prices
