Good. Tasty. Not necessarily the most healthy. - Edit
There is vegan. And there is whole food plant based with minimal salt, oil and sugar. True Bistro is upscale vegan.
Read moreTonight I had the cheese plate, parsnip soup, pappardelle pasta with mushrooms and apple fritters. The soup was my favorite- topped with crispy parsnips. The cheese was good but small. The pasta dish was tasty but not especially memorable. The fritters were delicious but deep
fried.
Pros: All vegan, A pleasant change from all the usual stuff
Cons: Expensive. They even charge for bread and spread, Salty and oily

Wonderful ambiance. Modern and upscale setting. Limited options but each are distinctly different and well-presented. Completely vegan. Wine, beer and cocktail list has several options. Indoor and outdoor seating. All options that we had were delicious.

Delicious, fully vegan - Edit
My husband and I visited True bistro towards the end of the pandemic. We had to sit outside, and it was horribly hot that day, but we went for the Sunday brunch and absolutely fell in love with this place. I no longer live in the area, but I will make special trips just to come to this restaurant. My husband had a tofu scramble with some delicious greens and a vegan biscuit, and I had a Benedict, also with greens. Some of the staff are in training, but the other staff members were very knowledgeable and helpful, and the menu options were wonderful. The chef at True is very creative and really does want to make contemporary vegan food, not just veganize a bunch of unhealthy options.

Limited menu, excellent food - Edit
I placed a reservation for outdoor dining, which I'd recommend as they have been busy as they're opening back up and only have outdoor dining available right now.
Read moreThe negative: Pricey and service felt rushed. They recently opened back up so it could've been some awkwardness with that.
The positive: good food, interesting options, fully vegan. My friend and I got the spanikopita and the polenta and both were excellent.
Pros: All vegan, Good food
Cons: Felt rushed, Expensive , Limited seating

Exquisite - Edit
I'm finally getting around to writing some reviews. I see on their website that they are temporarily closed, presumably due to Covid. I sincerely hope they reopen as soon as they can.
Read moreOnly eaten there once and it was outstanding. Not your average medium priced or inexpensive vegan restaurant. Hell, they've got real tablecloths! As well as a knowledgeable, helpful staff. It's not cheap, but definitely worth a visit. Keep them on your radar. I'll review again with more detail, if/when they reopen.
Pros: High-end dining experience, Unbelievably delicious food and helpful staff

Best vegan brunch - Edit
I’ve only been there for brunch, but the brunch is amazing. Waffles, crepes, salads, and three different tofu scrambles. No fake meat, which for me is a plus. I’m never in the area around dinner time, but I’m sure dinner is great, too. They expanded a couple years ago and I’m really hoping they’ll make it through quarantine. I miss them!

Delicious food - Edit
The brunch menu has such great options. I am planning to be back many times so I can try everything! The portions are well served, delicious food, nice ambiance, very good service, not too difficult to park around the block. I ordered the Tofu Benedict, the biscuit is amazingly good, everything tasted fresh and prepared to perfection.

Very disappointed! Lacking customer service - Edit
It used to be such a great restaurant. However, the wait stuff has been quite rude lately. Yesterday we went in and was loudly declared “just walk ins”. There were at least 10 table open and they said they couldn’t seat us for 15 mins because a large group just set down on the bar side. When we mentioned that the waiter just said: “Whatever!, as we were leaving. I have never heard a restaurant that turns people away with not even half capacity. We could have waited for our food happily, but telling us that our business is not as important as some others is not what a restaurant wants to promote. I have been referring a lot of friends there, but I will think about other places to go and talk about from now on.

True Bistro, I want to love you...but you keep disappointing... - Edit
Food was the bomb when you opened, but now dated - time to up your game. Being inflexible - especially when people bring new vegans - doesn’t help the cause. Not sure how you manage to be the only truly unfriendly vegan restaurant I have been to in the country.

You've gotta go here - Edit
This place is amazing! We were greeted by the owner (who is so sweet) and he seated us. The atmosphere was welcoming and everything was beyond delicious. It was our first meal there but we ended up making a reservation for their special Valentine's Day menu. I can't wait!

This is my favorite vegan place in town, and I’ve been to many😄It’s upscale with great wines, exceptional service, and the most beautiful and delicious food—especially the deserts! Great for birthday or anniversary dinner.

True-ly Amazing! - Edit
I make a point of visiting True Bistro whenever I’m in the Boston area. Both brunch and dinner are wonderful! The difficult part is trying to decide what to order since I’m unable to get there frequently and everything on the menu sounds so good! It’s basically vegan fine dining so it’s not cheap, but neither is non-vegan fine dining. Treat yourself if you can...you’ll be very glad you did!
