Delicious tofu donburi - Edit
Really nice tofu bowl in a very cute cafe. Only thing that overshadowed the experience was realising the drinks cost more than the food (¥1300). My mistake for not looking more carefully but it unexpectedly shot the bill up.

Cosy cat-themed restaurant - Edit
Friendly owners, English menu with delicious vegan tofu and rice bowl, and absolutely yummy 'mountain' grape juice made locally. They have lots of cute photos of the local stray cats and you get one to take away with you after your meal!!

Cute little cafe right in a great location - Edit
Small little cafe right off the Philosophers Path run by a sweet old couple that I just wanted to pack up and take home with me! Their menu isnt vegan but there is a tofu donburi bowl which is clearly labeled as vegan. It was super tasty and super filling! I had an iced matcha to go with it and it was a great break after riding our bikes all day. Really recommend it. However the couple also own the souvenir shop that is next door so theyre running around a lot, so please be patient with them 😊

Not vegan, but one tasty vegan option - Edit
Went for lunch here after visiting the Eikando temple. It's listed as a vegan place, but it actually only has one vegan thing on the menu--the Tofu Donbori. It is clearly labeled on the menu as "Vegan OK". I asked the server, who also seems to be the woman who runs the place, if anything else was vegan and she said no. So I got the Tofu Donbori, and it was very delicious. I also got some mountain grape juice that was also really tasty and different. If you're on the Philosopher's Path and find yourself hungry, it's worth a stop.
