Delicious food and friendly service - Edit
Tökmag offers delicious burgers, imaginative soups and pasta dishes. It's a small place, but in the spring/summer they have tables outside where you can enjoy your food.

Food here was good but not as good as I was expecting. Tasted healthy and service was relatively quick, but I did not get given what I ordered (by that time I couldn’t be bothered to wait again and just ate it anyway) and they only had 1 sauce left from the menu.

First of all, I was so relieved to stumble across this place! I am in Budapest for a work course and the others here with me are all heavy meat eaters - whilst they feasted at lunch, I was offered a quinoa salad (rocket, quinoa and pomegranate... not enough to keep you going for the day!)
Read moreAlthough the menu options seem underwhelming here, don’t be fooled; it’s not the standard, mushy veg burger you get at many establishments. The burgers are packed with flavour and texture. It was absolutely worth getting lost for! (I thought I was close to my hotel, but I was about two miles away...)
There is also a vegan bakery next door, so I’ve stocked up on goods for breakfast. They offer traditional Hungarian pastries... but in vegan form! Hallelujah! It has been so hard to find breakfast close to my hotel, so I’m elated!
I believe there are multiple outlets - I went to the Tökmag near the Parliament buildings.

Best vegan burger in Pest so far - Edit
I had the delicious mushroom burger with crispy sweet potato chips and beetroot vegaenese. I choose the whole grain bun, which combined very well with the tasty mushroom patty and rocket leaves. Had a very nice talk with the stuff and enjoyed the simple but stylish interior design. There are some tables outside the shop, with sunshine around lunchtime. They also offer lunchboxes and dessert. Cutlery is made of biodegradable material, if you need one but as there is a hand-sanitizer you can eat very well with your hands though 😉

Tasty burger place with choice of about 4 vegan burgers with optional sides. They arrived quickly and were very reasonably priced. Messy to eat because of all the lovely toppings on the burgers which make them really tasty. Not much room to sit in to eat- a few stalls at the side but worth hunting out.

We come here almost every week to grab a bite of that delicious Pumpkin Burger and a daily soup, love the place, the guys are always super nice, we simply love their delicious options (boxes, sandwiches and desserts, too!)

I went there to have lunch and got the pasta with olives and a sandwich. The cheese on top of the pasta was nice, but it was otherwise nothing special. A bit to much olivy for my taste. Also the sandwich was nothing special.

Straightforward, casual fast food joint. Had a boxed sandwich with sweet potato chips. Grabbed a green bean burger for the road which was actually excellent and I wish I’d had eaten it while still hot.

We decided to have breakfast here after walking past a few times and loved the way it looked. I ordered the pumpkin seed pesto sandwich which was delicious and my boyfriend had the sweet pea burger with chips, which he also really liked. We also ordered some red smoothies and they were great too! They don't serve iced coffee but were happy for me to get that at a neighbouring coffee shop and have it with my breakfast. It's a bit more expensive than the bakery next door but also seems a bit healthier 🙊 Would definitely recommend this place!

If you ever travel to Budapest, Tökmag is a MUST visit!They are suuuper friendly, they have gluten free options and the whole atmosphere is great! Take it to account that the place is small and altough in the summer they are allowed to put out chairs infront of their bistro, in the winter you might have to take your food home and eat it there since it’s a tiny place! BUT I’m happy to help grow a little place like this!! :)

There is outdoor seating and everyone who works there is really friendly.
