Just lovely food

We went on a cold Tuesday evening in December. There are a few choices for vegetarians and vegans but what mattered to us is that there was one vegan option for all three courses - including a proper dessert (we're fed up with places that offer sorbets as the vegan option)! The atmosphere was warm and the waiter friendly and professional.

The food was interesting and tasted great and the presentation impressive. It was a delight and we recommend it highly. It's a seriously good restaurant.

A Wonderful Vegan-Friendly Discovery

I ended up at The Union a bit randomly for Sunday lunch after spotting a few vegan dishes on the menu — and what a wonderful discovery it was! The food was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and made with local produce. You can tell the team take real pride in their craft.
The setting is just as charming, with cosy wooden features, brick walls, and fireplaces that give the place a warm, inviting feel. I’d love to return!

Pros: The food is wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable staff, cute venue

Beautiful small plates

Amazingly presented and fresh ingredients, clearly labelled vegan options and choice of drinks. Excellent date night!

Beautiful lunch, great service and staff

The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on what was on menu for different diets. They were brilliant when we asked for some dishes to be made vegan by substituting butter.

At least 2 vegan dishes on each of the nibbling bits / starters, mains, sides and one pudding!

Each of the dishes I had were amazing, and they even offer alcohol free cocktails. We couldn’t finish all of the butter bean hummus so they kindly put it in a tub for us to take away so there was no waste.

Would really recommend as a nice lunch / dinner out.

Pros: Vegan options including desert , Alcohol free cocktails , Will adapt a dish where possible

Cons: Serves other dishes with animal products
