A bit hit and miss

Some good options here but management seems to change a lot and the menu varies. Worth looking online in advance if planning a visit.

Bland

Only one starter; tomato and basil soup. It was quite bland. Not many mains. The burger only comes with house salad. Nourish bowl had cold cauliflower, butternut squash and broccoli, which were seriously lacking in flavour. They do a pizza, with cous cous on it and use violife creamy (which becomes liquid when hot). Not very impressed. Rather pricey for what it was.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Poor choices, Lacking flavour , Pricey

Pros: Lots of vegan starts, mains and puddings, Riverside location, Friendly peacock!

Cons: Not cheap but certainly value for money

Delicious!

This cozy and charming in serves up tasty vegan meals. I stopped by on Christmas Eve and tried their three-course festive menu which included a tomato and bell pepper soup, a root vegetable roast, and a blueberry polenta cake or Christmas pudding with vegan custard. Everything was beautifully plated and very tasty in a homey and comforting sort of way. It was the sort of food I could imagine being served in someone’s house and there was something very pleasing about that.

The ambiance is great and they do a good job at following COVID protocols and making you feel safe while dining inside. Staff is friendly and service is fast once they take your order, but we were ignored for a small eternity both while waiting to order and when we wished to ask for the bill.

Overall, at The Trout you get great food in a truly beautiful, rustic English setting. It’s worth the visit.

Pros: Great food, Friendly staff

Cons: Staff is not very attentive

SO delicious.

This was one of the best vegan meals I've ever had. I had a cauliflower tart as my main.

Cons: Service is a bit slow if you have plans after.

Great vegan menu

This is a beautiful pub by the river serving both vegan and non vegan food. There is a separate vegan menu and the food is delicious. I've tried the vegetable flat bread and the caramelized onion tart and they were both full of flavour and inventive. It's a bit pricey but good for a special occasion. They have vegan deserts which look amazing but I haven't tried these yet!
