Vegan pastries and coffees

We like getting the vegan croissant / pain au chocolat from here for breakfast, if you’re early enough and they haven’t run out. They offer oat milk / soy milk coffees and again going earlier gets you the best coffee and vibe in the cafe!

They also do a vegan bagel, but I’ve not tried that yet. For sale they have artisanal vegan kimchi and other items here or there. They also sell jams / chocolates that vary from season to season.

Pros: Vegan croissant, Vegan pain au chocolat , Oat milk flat white

No vegan food

On arrival, I asked if they had anything vegan as nothing was labelled V, Ve or with allergens.
The person said ‘oh, no cheese?’, and she inspected all the sandwiches and said ‘no, but you could have scrambled egg on toast.’ 🥴 I should say, the server was perfectly friendly, just not knowledgable.
They also didn’t have anywhere to change babies so we couldn’t stay there on a number of fronts.
It’s a shame because it looked nice!

Pros: Looked nice, Ethical coffee, Staff friendly

Cons: No vegan food, Staff don’t know what vegan is

Best hot chocolate around!

Super cozy coffee shop in downtown Summertown selling some of the most amazing hot chocolate I've ever tried. They source their cacao from cacao plantations in Colombia and it shows. My favorite is the Sierra Nevada blend (70% dark) with oat milk. They give you a little chunk of chocolate with it and it is truly heaven in a cup.

They also have some vegan treats. My favorite is the banana bread (it’s absolutely delicious when toasted). I also tried their vegan brownie. It is more like a chocolate cake with hardened chocolate on top. A bit too sweet for my taste. Their vegan sandwich is ok. The bread is nice, but the sandwich lacks filling (it felt like I was basically just eating bread).

Right now they're also selling non-alcoholic mulled cider and it is wonderful on a chilly afternoon. They spice it incredibly well.

Finally, they sell great artisan bread, amongst other things (like cheese, honey, and produce). I've tried the Black Forest loaf and rye loaf and both are delicious. Whatever bakery they get it from is top quality.

The staff is very friendly and the owner is a Colombian woman who is always around making sure things are running smoothly.

I cannot recommend this place enough. You must at least try that hot chocolate!

Pros: Hot chocolate, Friendly Staff, Great bread
