AVOID - Vegan breakfast contained BACON - Edit
**Note this company is now called LIGHTHOUSE**
Read moreI visited here on the 17/02/24 for breakfast.
I ordered two vegan breakfasts (the only vegan option on the menu)
I was served the breakfast by a rude man who I found out later was the owner!
I asked him if the breakfast was vegan and he said yes, he thinks so.
I didn’t question this at the time but looking back on it I should’ve done.
I was half way through my breakfast and I realised that there were bacon bits in my mushroom!
I spoke to one of the staff and the owner to let make them aware of the mistake. I don’t think he believed me at first. I asked him to come and look at my breakfast and he confirmed it was bacon.
He asked me if I wanted another breakfast or my money back and I opted for my money back.
He was rude, dismissive and not empathetic at all.
I spoke to a very helpful lady who seemed like a supervisor or something and she was very apologetic and was trying to work out how this had happened. She refunded my partners breakfast and the drinks we had, which was nice of her. She confirmed the rude man was the owner.
I haven’t eaten meat for nearly five years and while I don’t think I actually ate the bacon it has left me feeling sick.
The lady was helpful and says she usually checks the vegan breakfasts but it seems like she’s fighting a bit of a losing battle against this man.
Vegans/vegetarians avoid if you don’t want to eat meat.
Cons: Rude owner , Served meat in a vegan breakfast

Vegan friendly and Human friendly - Edit
Simple and popular little cafe with outside seating that overlooks the green in East Preston.
Read moreThe road isn't busy so traffic isn't distracting or imposing.
The staff are really friendly and happy to help with any questions.
The menu is a kind of breakfast/lunch pastiche that is mostly meat/dairy but they do have some very tasty looking vegan and vegetarian options.
I had the Buddha bowl shown in the photo and it was excellent, would certainly recommend. Quite a lot of it and certainly filling.

Pros: Good food, Good value to the point of being cheap., Friendly and informed staff.
Cons: Could do with a couple more vegan options.
