The Sanctuary is a fully vegan Cafe, which made me so happy. I’ve heard recommendations and wanted to visit while in Berlin. And oh boy it was so worth it. We bought 4 items to go, two savoury and two sweets. Everything was so tasty. In addition staff was super friendly, as were other clients. Heartwarming experince.

Read moreBy the time I got here there were few things left, so if you want to have a lot of choice, I'd suggest you arrive as early as you can.
A few eat-in and terrace tables, so it's a good spot for a coffee break.

I had already visited another branch before and was absolutely blown away. Ever since, I couldn’t stop thinking about their pastries, so I knew I had to check out this location as well.
Read moreThis branch is significantly larger, with plenty of outdoor seating along the building especially lovely in the afternoon sun. It’s located in a quiet residential area, which makes the whole experience feel very relaxed and enjoyable. Inside, there are also several tables, and the interior is simple but modern and inviting.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall positive atmosphere.
When I visited, there wasn’t a huge selection left but considering it was a Sunday afternoon on a public holiday, I was honestly just glad they were open at all.
I went for a matcha latte, which was, as expected, very good. I also tried one of their specials (I unfortunately forgot the Italian name), which was something like a donut with sprinkles and a lemon cream filling and wow, it completely blew me away. Even though I already had high expectations, I was still pleasantly surprised.
At this point, I feel like you really can’t go wrong here everything just seems to taste fantastic. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

Pastries were really good, and the hot chocolate was the best one I've had in Germany. The pizza slice also tasted great, despite looking unappetising.

Went for a focaccia and a pistachio pastry and a double espresso. The pastry and coffee were on point, but the focaccia was a bit too salty. Could have been a bad batch.

Visited this second location after liking the branch in Torstrasse. This one is a lot more spacious offering a large room next to the one with the counter and some outdoor seating. We tried a variety of the sweet pastries-my favourite was the pistachio Girelle, which is a little crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. The cream is soft and light, I think cream rather than buttercream based. 😋 The vaniglia cornetto was also great, but we liked everything really.
Read moreWe came ona Wednesday afternoon which meant that we could stay without stress or hassle, I imagine the place to be busy on weekends. They also have savoury items and sprcials like Panettone or Pan D‘Oro to buy (34 Euro). Self service and card only.
