The food here was so delicious! The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. The menu was clearly labeled. If you stay at the Outbox Inn next door you get 10% off. Only thing they need is vegan dessert options

The worst vegan burger I think I’ve ever had - it’s pretty hard to mess up a $15 burger but this was dry buns, no sauce, 2 gherkins a lettuce leaf a watery tomato and a burnt on the outside but raw on the inside patty that was meant to be beetroot and lentil but was just beetroot basically. The chips were not cooked at all and far too oily. Soooo expensive and tasted nasty. I love eating and I couldn’t eat it all. Such a shame cuz it’s reviewed so well.

Ich kannte das Restaurant schon aus La Fortuna, kann man echt wieder hin gehen. Ich hatte den veganen Falafel und mein Mann den vegetarischen Bureka Turki. Sehr nettes Ambiente und nette Bedienung. Es gibt auch einen sehr schönen Außenbereich. Es könnte mehr veganes geben.

This is a good late option. I really enjoyed the orange soup and hummus appetizers. The vegan burger and falafel were dissapointing, and there weren’t as many options as I hoped for, but overall still a good option.

The place looks amazing, like some hip restaurants in Europe.
I really wanted to like this place more but I just didn't really. There aren't that many vegan options and in general it's quite expensive for what you actually get. I had the vegan burger for 7900 colones (plus 10% service fee as always) and although the taste was good it was a little on the dry side as there was almost no sauce.
Tap water is free, as always here in Costa Rica.
Pros: Hip place, nicely decorared, Vegan things clearly marked on the menu
Cons: Not that many vegan options, Quite expensive for what it is

Whenever the word “vegan” is on the menu, I get excited. The Open Kitchen’s menu variety was excellent. We were voracious and ordered too much - yuca fries, orange soup, falafel plate and casado vegano. All of the food was well-prepared and delightful, Not just because we were hungry.

Downstairs is a cool vibe, focusing on the bar.
Staff was - as everywhere I have been in Costa Rica - SO friendly, accommodating and kind.

The menu has a number of well-marked vegan and vegetarian dishes. The restaurant is modern, airy, and brightly lit. Breakfast is served all day and the lunch menu has vegan options for casados, a burger, falafel and a soup, in adddition to starters (humus, baba ganoush, yuca fries).

Ich habe 3 Nächte in Monteverde verbracht und jeden Abend im Open Kitchen gegessen, da es in der Nähe meines Hotels lag und es ansonsten auch nur wenige Möglichkeiten für ein veganes Abendessen in der Nähe gab.
Read moreIch hatte den veganen Burger, die orangene Suppe und die Falafel. Den Burger fand ich ok, die Suppe gut und die Falafel haben mir am besten geschmeckt. Die Portionen waren immer großzügig. Es gab auch veganen Karottenkuchen, allerdings bin ich nicht dazu gekommen, diesen zu probieren.
Preislich lagen die Gerichte für Costa Rica im normalen Bereich und waren nicht übermäßig teuer.

I had the vegan burger, with a side of hummus, and a shiny flax smoothie. I asked the waitress if they could accommodate onion free, and she assured me that they could.
Read moreUnfortunately both my burger and my hummus came out with onions on them. She replaced them for me, and the hummus, fries and smoothie were all very tasty, but I didn't enjoy the burger. It was heavy and not very flavourful. I should have listened to the other reviews about it.

They have breakfast all day long so I had a breakfast spirulina-granlola-fruit bowl for dinner while my husband chose the burger. It was delicious and I especially enjoyed the fries that I tried!
