Wow. This is genuinely one of the best places I have ever eaten. Everything was delicious! Between my husband and I we tried the cauliflower poppers, the lasagna, the grilled broccoli, the garlic mushrooms and the bao buns. I only wish we could have tried everything else on the menu too! Highly, highly recommend!

Read moreI really was not expecting such large portions. Garlic bread was a bit too salty for my taste but everything else was lovely.
We had Pad Thai and 'Chicken' Burger with Chocolate cookie Sunday to finish. All tasted amazing.
Environment and relaxing and it did not look too busy but we went quite early.
Pros: Large portions, Friendly staff, Relaxed environment

Absolutely lovely lunch - omnivore family members and children all enjoyed it too - the children’s meals were the best I’ve ever seen in any restaurant. Very friendly waiting staff who welcomed our little dog and got him some water (first restaurant to do that since we’ve had a dog!). Food was beautifully tasty - really delicious and loads of different cuisines and options. Lovely ambience and decor too I really couldn’t fault it and I can be quite fussy! Definitely book as it was busy even on a Thursday lunchtime. Highly recommend! #Veganuary

Visited the Oak tree for the first time last night. The food was superb. The bangers & mash was really good as was my starters of nachos with Guacamole and sour cream. Finished with chocolate and raspberry tart - all excellent.

Excellent vegan restaurant with variety, both salads and junk food. The sauces on the meals are the stars of the show. Not too expensive and allows dogs.

Lovely little vegan restaurant, with a pretty extensive menu and good kids kids menu too. I went with picky non vegans and a toddler, we all really enjoyed it. The nachos were my favourite. Really friendly staff too.

Read moreThe music was way too loud, we asked if it could be turned down and it wasn’t, you had to talk really loud and if the music changed while doing so you would look like you were shouting across a two person table.
As for the food it was ok if you just need a burger or hotdog fix but nothing special.
I had the chilli dog and although the hotdog was ok, the chilli that was added on top was cold, the chips were also cold
And if you wanted anything other than a Coke Zero you were out of luck.

The flavour of the Indonesian style starter we had was bland, and whilst the Chick'n katsu itself was tasty, the 'prawn' stir fry main was soggy and sour. The cheesecakes and sticky toffee pudding for dessert were ok, but not great.
The quality of the ingredients seemed basic too, which for the price we thought should have been better. Would like to have seen more local produce on offer for food and drinks - it was all a bit bland and uninspiring.
Whilst it's great to have an all vegan place in Leigh, the food quality let it down for us.

I generally prefer healthy menus so was a little nervous about the many 'comfort foods' on the menu but shouldn't have been. Every course was really well prepared, cooked and presented. The portions were very large so had to leave a little time before courses as I usually skip dessert but the options were just too good to miss. Our visit here was during COVID restrictions so can't comment on the usual atmosphere but if you are happy in your own company / with those that you visit with, the food is enough to recommend this restaurant.

I visited over a year ago and was very impressed. Second visit, the curry was amazing but my kebab was underwhelming. Although very tasty, it was a small portion and pricey for what is was. Needed maybe a flatbread or something. Super tasty food though and lovely place ❤️

Best vegan food in Leigh on Sea 🌿💗 - Edit
I went to The Oak Tree for my friend’s birthday and we had such a wonderful time!! I called them in advance and they even done her some balloons and a card which was lovely and added to the celebration. They’ve got a wide range of food, I went for the “chicken” bits to start, lasagna for main and a knickerbocker glory for dessert which was absolutely incredible!!! I’d go back just for that! They change up the menu lots so there’s always new, delicious things to try!!

Firstly, no more two for ones on Wednesday nights.
So we ordered 3 mains and a main salad - but the portions were about 50% SMALLER than before the lockdown
Arrived hungry and left hungry and disappointed- won't be going back till they start serving decent sized portions

Best vegan food I've tried - Edit
Visited with my friend this weekend just gone. We tried a starter and two light bites each and both noted that the seitan bacon in our meals tasted really good. I also thoroughly enjoyed my iced coffee. Staff were friendly enough and also felt very safe, tables were all really well spaced apart.

We were in Essex so decided to try the Oaktree on our way home and were happy to discover it was open until 10.30pm - bonus . It was a Sunday night but hardly anyone in the restaurant. Despite the lack of customers , service was quite slow (almost 2 hours for starters mains and desserts) and basic (had to ask for water twice and wrong drink brought despite them checking) and not much atmosphere or ambience. However the food is lovely, really tasty with a great range of dishes. They also gave us a doggy bag (on request) which was fully compostable so extra points for being environmentally friendly. Despite this would definitely go again if In the area but maybe only have a main.
