Cozy space and good food

Lots of vegan options for food and baked goods, and a great place to sit! The vegan mac and cheese, sausage sandwich, and chickn sandwich were all very good. We also got a cupcake and turnover, so tasty

Mom's Day made great!

The first stop in a much-needed mom's day, this place did not disappoint!
My friend had an egg salad on naan while I throughly enjoyed the vegan version of the same. Her iced tea alongside my Kale smoothie, we were throughly satiated by the end of our meal but, stayed to chat long enough to make room for dessert. Grateful we did, we enjoyed chocolate cake (vegan), a cookie sandwich (vegan, gluten-free) and a scone. I cannot recommend their desserts enough!

The atmosphere here was quaint, with the mismatched but, coordinating salvaged furniture and antique shop decor. The calm, peaceful environment was only disrupted by the chatter of happy customers.

Parking is a bit of a struggle, especially with my handicap- accessible needs but, we made it work. The bathroom, however, is downstairs, in the basement, an impossibility for my wheelchair so that created an abrupt end to our visit.

If you're still reading and haven't grabbed your keys yet, what are you waiting for?!

Pros: Chocolate cake, Sweet, helpful staff, Peaceful atmosphere

Cons: Difficult parking, Inaccessible bathroom

Great vegan treats

Popped in here for a sweet treat and was not disappointed! Tons of vegan baked goods. We had an oatmeal pie and a chocolate zucchini muffin and both were amazing.

My favorite coffee shop

I love going to The Moth. Good food and good vibes. I love the vegan mac and cheese. Most of the baked goodies behind the counter are also usually vegan, just ask and they'll tell you which ones.

Pros: Food is delicious with many vegan options, Has vegan baked goods, Cozy rustic vibes

Cons: Baked goods aren't labeled and you have to ask, no kids meals

Delicious vegan cakes and pastries

Excellent selection of vegan baked goods. Delicious fudge, icing, flavorful rich cake. The meals and drinks are really nice too. Beautiful location in a restored historic mill next to a stream and pond.

All things can be vegaized

Obviously they only get a 4 star cause they have milk and eggs here.

But in regard to the vegan options it’s delightful. And everything can be made vegan. Sometimes there is an up charge for vegan cheese🙄 but damn the atmosphere is so rad! And the food is just so tasty.

Pros: Vegan chickpea melt, Cookies

Great cafe and an ancient building

I absolutely love this place. If you drive down main street in Allentown, you can't miss the old brick mill that this cafe hides in. The road actually bends around it, in fact.

Highly recommend their beet burger as it's one of the best burgers I've ever had. My second favorite dish is the chickpea melt. If you miss tuna salad or chicken salad as a vegetariann, this will hit the spot. I have yet to be disappointed by anything I got from this place.

If you like old buildings (which I do) , there are plenty of ancient wood beams to stare at! A really cozy environment. I only wish they were open later on weekdays!

They make their own proteins

I love that this place makes their own chickun, sausage, and egg proteins. It's rare to find a place that doesn't just use Beyond, Impossible, Gardein, or JUST products. All the desserts are great, most are vegan. Highly recommend eating here!!

Pros: Interesting proteins , Cool atmosphere, Pastries are delicious

Cons: Not all vegan, The bathroom is a little weird... Clean but weird , Gets busy fast

Bike Ride and Picnic

10/10 options for lunch or breakfast to pair with a coffee or tea of choice with nut milk or nut creamer options. Top it off with a vegan desert too! Can dine in again or eat outside. We sometimes take it to go and have a picnic in the heritage park and go for a bike ride after. Beautiful spot with clothing and antique shops nearby too!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, And vegan desert , Coffee with nut milk or nut creamer

I was blown away by this place. The food is incredible and even my non-vegan friends really enjoyed it. I love all the options and would definitely go back again and again.

I got the chickpea sliders with a chai latte and a cherry tart—incredible!

More Sloth than Moth

BUT WORTH IT! The beet burger was crazy good and so were the chickpea sliders. Gotta say, whatever magic they were putting in their food, it was worth the wait.

There was and indoor and outdoor seating option.

Literally my favorite place of all time! Their vegan Mac and cheese is to die for. Wish they sold the cheese in jars. Their grilled cheese with mustard is beyond amazing. I travel over an hour to come here. My best friend and I are obsessed. Oh and try their lavender lemonade. 🙌 if I could give more than 5 stars I would!!!

Pros: Amazing Mac and cheese, Lavender lemonade is so refreshing and tastes gre, Grilled cheese with mustard is on point

I challenge you to find a better vegan sausage sandwich. Go ahead. I’ll wait.

Go. Get the vegan sausage and peppers sandwich and a side of the vegan mac & cheese. Trust me. The absolute best you’ll have.

Vegan Paradise!

If you love coffee and a sweet vegan treat...this is your place. The menu isnt 100% vegan, but they have so much to offer. Great coffee drinks and some the best vegan dessert around.

Also LOVE the ambiance! Really old building with a really cool vibe inside. Owner and staff are always great!!

Love my local staple!!

Come here all the time! The food is all great, and I love the Mac n cheese and beet burger. I’m here all the time and the staff is the sweetest. Only complaint is that some of the portions are a bit small, but other than that it’s great!

Pros: Clearly labeled vegan options, Great coffee

Delicious food, great atmosphere

This place is so special! Especially for the area. There are lots of delicious vegan options. The sausage sandwich is delicious, as well as the beet burger. The mac and cheese really hit the spot as well. The place is full of locals/regulars and it's a really warm atmosphere. There are plenty of vegan desserts and the drinks are good as well. The decor is so beautiful and unique inside as well.

Pros: excellent food, warm staff, beautiful decor

Coffeehouse/light lunch

Found this place just searching for coffee shops. Drove 40 minutes to venture out for the day. Stopped in and they have lavender syrup which is one of my favorites. We decided to try the Mac and Cheese as well as the sausage sandwich. The Mac and cheese was absolutely amazing , and it is a small portion but the price is average and it comes with a side salad as well. The environment is cute and the location is great, (free parking). Definitely recommend.

Pros: Lost of vegan options, Inexpensive , Free Parking

One of our favorites

Delicious vegan entrees and some of the best vegan desserts around. Their mac & cheese is my wife's favorite, and I like it too despite not being a fan of the dish in general. I'm partial to the beet burger, and like the sausage sandwich as well. We always buy some desserts to go, as they're hard to beat anywhere. As of this post, all prices are below $10.

Definitely disagree with a couple previous, somewhat negative posts! We, and many NJveg members, wouldn't frequent The Moth if we didn't enjoy it. It can get crowded on Saturdays, parking can be an issue, and the bathroom is not the most accessible, but those concerns are far outweighed by everything else.

Pros: Delicious food, Friendly, Historic building

Cons: Not all vegan, Limited hours

Desserts

Although the desserts and drinks at this coffee house are very good, the actual meals lack good taste. The vegan Mac and cheese tasted like it was covered in salad dressing, and the beet burger was awful. Not to mention you have to walk down two flights of stairs and down a hallway that smelled as if it had been blasted in horrible smelling perfume to get to the bathroom.

Good for vegan patisserie and coffee but vegan entrees are lacking

Very casual coffee-house in very old building with scary stairway to bathroom has delicious vegan baked goods and coffee but I wouldn't plan on coming here for lunch again or with kids (unless they are gourmand types and you don't mind paying $$$ for three times what a kid can eat).

Pros: Several clearly marked vegan entrees, Delicious vegan cakes, cookies, scones, Nice employees

Cons: Vegan Mac + Beet burger are gross, no kid portions or menu, Pricey entrees

Wonderful place for a light lunch and a baked good. I ordered a birthday cake and cupcakes for a birthday party. They were not only beautiful, but delicious as well.

Pros: Food is delicious

Cons: Wish they were open later and on Sunday
