Serves meat, vegan options available. A social enterprise and part of the Growing Abundance Project, which harvests and shares local food. Takeaway only, through side window. Reported closed, Mar 2018.
Right in the centre of Castlemaine, and very near the station, is this cafe with unfussy decor, friendly staff and a relaxed vibe. We've had coffee and cake in the morning (vegan tarts and muffins), lunch - where you choose a size (bowl or takeaway) and select from the range of dishes. We're now Thursday night regulars with our own three-tier tiffin tin to collect a tasty vegetarian meal (and I've seen other regulars asking for the vegan option). The cafe is a social enterprise with profits supporting the Growing Abundance Project which harvests and shares food in the Castlemaine area, and runs the local school canteen - introducing students to healthier food, including vegetarian and vegan dishes.
