Blu’ve Done It Again - Edit
In opting for this restaurant, I somehow felt as though I was cheating. Having dined at a sister hotel elsewhere in the Emirates, I had convinced myself that I would adore what they had to offer here, and a key driving factor in this assurance was one thing in particular: cake. Yes, this classic, perennial breakfast item (in my gluttonous mind, at least), was on the spread in Ajman, and I had an unshakable inkling that it would be here, too. And you know what? It was!
Read moreIn a deviation from the wonderful chocolate offering I had experienced previously, this locale instead prospered an equally fantastic, zingy, moist citrus loaf. Foregoing my usual dining strategy, I dove headlong into securing (and enjoying) as many pieces as I could. Having polished off a sizeable portion of the baked bounty that lay on the buffet, I manage to temper my delirium long enough to realise that I would probably be best served to see what else lay in wait.
Indeed, it was fortuitous that I did come to my senses in time, as there were a couple of real winners to be found. Chief among these, and actually my favourite thing of the meal, was the congee. To acknowledge this fact is surprising even for me, but there was something special about this specific rice porridge. Texturally ideal, it had its own subtle salinity and charming flavour profile that were only enhanced by some sensational supporting garnishes, most notably the sticky sweet fried onions and the pungent, toothsome fried garlic.
Additional impressive dishes included the punchy chana chaat and the crisp, fluffy spiced potatoes lavished in tahini dressing, A special nod to for the bread selection; it was remarkably fresh and more than to enjoy without embellishment.
My premonition about the standard here came to fruition, and now I have concrete proof, I have zero qualms about heading back for more.
