Website no longer in use - menu very limited - Edit
Very dissapointing. Visited based on the online menu. On arrival asked for the menu seen online - told its no longer available and website should be closed. Only 2 vegan options, both spicy. Regular menu was also 4 options only and basic. We paid for drinks and left, along with a group of 6 doing the same as also mis- led. Wont be back.
Read morePros: Nice to sit outside for a drink
Cons: Website no longer used - dissapointed on arrival, Menu very basic & boring, Vegan menu no longer abailable - 2 options if ask

Nice food from a limited range - Edit
The board listed 4 different vegetarian options, some of which had extra labels (v) or (ve) but we were told all the options were vegan (our waitress did confirm with the kitchen for us). We had the bean provencal, which was freshly cooked and very tasty. It was a bit disappointing to see a huge list of ice cream flavours but no vegan dessert options - given it’s a little way outside town, a few good dessert options (vegan fruit pie would fit in with the rustic menu perfectly) would be the decider to convince me to return.

Cons: Limited options, Inconsistent labelling, No dessert 🥺

No vegan menu, limited vegan options - Edit
The website has a good vegan/vego menu but this is not offered at the pub. One vegan option on the menu, and I had to ask the kitchen what was in it three times. When it came out it was not as described (just vegetables, no beans or pulses). Nice enough pub but not professional so not worth the bother to me.
Read morePros: Reasonable atmosphere , Food tasted pretty good , Staff reasonably polite
Cons: No vegan range as advertised, a couple of options, Staff incl kitchen not knowledgeable about food, Expensive for what it was

Definitely Not Vegan on the day I visited. - Edit
Heard excellent views of this pub for lots of vegan choices. Upon arrival the lady who greeted my wife and I was a little abrupt and not very approachable. She may have just been having an off day ! I ordered my wife’s food and I had the Vegan Shepherds Pie. When it came it looked and smelled amazing, it tasted even better than it looked. But literally 30 mins after we left the dairy allergy I have kicked in, at the time my wife said “wow that tastes like real cheddar cheese” . I spent the rest of the day quite ill as my dairy allergy is very severe. I guess if your told it vegan it must be vegan. So if it’s a lifestyle choice by all means go but if you have an allergy really don’t.

Cons: A long wait for the food, No side salads or garnish with this dish , Don’t seem to understand the definition of Vegan

Friendly and great food! - Edit
This is a great little pub with a wide range of vegan and vegetarian choices on the menu. I went with work colleagues this morning to the ‘Thursday morning Breakfast Club’ and had a full vegan cooked breakfast which was delicious! Our group was mixed with vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters. Everyone loved the food and was impressed. The vegan sausages were tomato and bean (I think pinto but forgot to ask), and were really tasty. If you buy the large breakfast you get refills of tea or coffee free. Asked about vegan options and Carl was really helpful, on the board I noticed 3 vegan mains and 3 desserts which he said is his policy not to limit it to one dish. I’ll be back to sample the vegan paella and the desserts very soon! Thank you 👍🏼

Deliciousness - Edit
I was taken here by my Grandparents, who had noticed the vegan menus on a previous visit. The Horse and Jockey did not disappoint.
Read moreI had the 'cheesy' garlic mushrooms to start, a sheperds pie as a main and treacle tart for dessert. Everything was tasty and wonderfully cooked. This place has clearly put a lot of thought into their vegan options, and i for one cannot wait to go back and try out the rest of the menu.
Pros: tasty food, good value, lots of choice for vegans and vegetarians
Cons: shabby decor, small dining area
