Amazing comfort food - Edit
Got the Reuben and I loved it. My partner got the chicken and waffles and it was so good. My omni friends got the fish and chips and they said it was so good. I also tried it and it was on point. My omni friends said it was the best vegan mac n cheese they've tried.

Best vegan comfort food in Toronto - Edit
My go-to spot for bringing out of town guests for some delicious vegan comfort food.
Read moreBest part is it's set in a cool area with pubs like Sneaky-Dee's for the full Tdot experience + you can wear anything you like to this venue:)
It's not the healthiest choice but it's fantastic food.
Pros: Filling portions, Casual venue, Something for everyone, even (puke) meat eaters
Cons: Dark lighting

Satisfying brunch - Edit
I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken and waffles here! The Mac and cheese wasn't to my liking on its own, but it tasted great mixed in with the bacon collard greens. The service was great at The Hogtown Vegan, and there was a lot of seating available.

Outstanding Comfort Food! - Edit
We experienced The Hogtown Vegan via Doordash on a recent trip to Toronto, and the meal was fabulous from start to finish. The unChicken burger, the fries, and the coleslaw were all perfect, and my wife felt the same way about her unChicken Caesar Wrap, fries, and MacNCheeze. We topped the whole thing off with the Waffle Sticks, a creative and delicious dessert of waffles coated in cinnamon, then doused in chocolate sauce. Though they sound decadent, they were surprisingly light and wonderfully flavorful. Consider The Hogtown Vegan added to my list of Toronto favorites!

Comfort Southern Food - Edit
I was craving carbs and comfort. This did not disappoint. I ordered in because I could not go out. It arrived quite quickly. I took the Southern Combo with a side of mash and gravy. The Mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, but not too much. Would have loved a bit more spice, some smokiness/jerkiness, in there, but I know I tend to exaggerate with the spice level. The gravy on the mash was very tasty. The un-chicken was veeery good. Crispy and flavourful. The barbecue sauce was also a hit. The collard greens were good but be warned, they were extremely garlicky, so not good for a pre-meeting lunch. I also bought a cute tote. They were raising money to repair damages caused by vandalism and I could not resist. It’s super cute and simple. Perfect for a casual day.

YOU MUST EAT HERE! - Edit
Okay y’all. This spot is heaven. My server was very friendly & attentive. I ordered the Southern Platter & was very pleased. I was born & raised in the deep south in the US & they absolutely nailed the southern comfort food flavours. Probably THE best mac & cheese I’ve ever had. Highly HIGHLY recommend. Don’t forget to order dessert!!!

Who still uses Daiya in 2023 - Edit
We were craving comfort food during the snow, and ordered the southern combo and the Philly cheesesteak. The Unchicken was maybe tofu? It was bland. The mac’n’cheese was spicy and rubbery. Collards were good. Cheesesteak was somehow dry and oily at the same time.

Great Comfort food - Edit
On a cold night before going to a gig, this was exactly what I needed. Nothing had a particularly strong taste to it, but that should not detract from anything. It all worked really well together

Hogtown happiness - Edit
We had an excellent Sunday brunch here! Our food was delicious- we had the French Toast Sliders with Chilli Cheese Home Fries as well as the Eggs Benny and Home Fries Supremacy. The queso on both orders of fries was incredible and the deep-fried french toast was to die for! The eggs Benedict was great as well- we haven't seen that plant-based very often.

A good place to try - Edit
I recall being very impressed when I first went vegan... I haven't been overly pleased in recent times. I think I might not be a fan of their UnChicken, however my partner loved their UnPork! I think it's a must try at least once.

Perfect comfort food - Edit
The food was indistinguishable for me from the non-vegan counterparts and truly satisfied the cravings I had for squishy mac and cheese, chilli cheese fries. The collards were sensational. Flavorful, hearty, and generally great vibes😄

UnChicken waffles! - Edit
Went for some UnChicken waffles after seeing the recommendations on happy cow. The UnChicken & waffles were great, found the butter a bit of an odd flavour and not sure if the collard greens accompany the dish the way I would like it to, also found the mac n cheese an odd combination having spice in it, but that’s just not my cup of tea. However it’s a nice place and the staff were really friendly, would choose something different from the menu next time though & would have also like a better selection of beers. Menu was dominated by IPA’s which I’m not keen on.

There was only one waiter working on a saturday night and it took forever to get service. The food was underwhelming. Ruben sandwich was super dry and had no toppings.

My partner and I got the Southern Combo and Vegan Poutine.
Read moreEverything was delicious and filling. The mac and cheese is creamy, the collard greens are tender and well-seasoned, and the unchicken with barbecue sauce almost tastes like the real thing.
The poutine was also good, but I felt like there was too much unchicken on top.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. At the time I was there, they were playing some really chill psychedelic rock.
Pros: All vegan, Friendly staff, Cool vibes
