DEFINITELY worth the try - Edit
I was visiting Toronto and wanted something relatively easy walk from some of the more touristy locations. LOVED the crispy fried soy wings and the unChicken Caesar wrap. So worth going back when I visit again.

I feel comforted! - Edit
I think the term "vegan comfort food" is goofy, but if it's for real Hogtown's got it! Unchicken sandwich was really good and my wife had unchicken and waffles. So tasty!

Amazing vegan comfort food - Edit
My partner and I got the Southern Combo and Vegan Poutine.
Read moreEverything was delicious and filling. The mac and cheese is creamy, the collard greens are tender and well-seasoned, and the unchicken with barbecue sauce almost tastes like the real thing.
The poutine was also good, but I felt like there was too much unchicken on top.
The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. At the time I was there, they were playing some really chill psychedelic rock.
Pros: All vegan, Friendly staff, Cool vibes

Nice Vegan restaurant in Toronto - Edit
The food was quite OK, while hard to get impressed after landing in Toronto coming from LA which is the Vegan Food paradise, it was still quite nice. They also had a nice ginger Beer.
Read moreThe burger was really nice, and the salad was good, but I found the greens could have been a bit crunchier (more on the type of lettuce used).
If I'm ever at Toronto again, I'll definitely come back.

Fast & Flavorful! - Edit
The hogtown Vegan was our first stop on our Toronto holiday and it did not disappoint! Coming into the city late on a weekday, it was great to find free parking on a side street, be able to dine in, grab a beer and be served so quickly. What we got:
Read moreAppetizer - Crispy Fried Soy Wings (10 w/ buffalo sauce and dill ranch for dipping). Both the buffalo sauce and the ranch were awesome! The inside of the wings was a little softer than I was expecting.
Mains - Pulled unPork Sandwich & unChicken Caesar Wrap, both with Mac N' Cheez. My partner was taken off guard with the "togetherness" of the unPork as it was different from what he's experienced with "real" sandwiches of that sort. Thinking it should be less together meat and more of a sauce slop. The sauce though was great and the slaw on the burger made for an amazing crunch. The Caesar Wrap was delicious but definitely could have used more caesar sauce, but some hot sauce added to the wrap helped with the dryness. We both loved the Mac N' Cheeze! There was a lot of great smokey flavors and was very creamy.
Beer selection was good, seating was plentiful, waitstaff was friendly and fast, prices were a little bit on the higher side for our everyday budget.
Pros: Fast, Great Flavor, Beer

Vegan comfort food - Edit
Great chicken and waffles and one of the tastiest mac and cheese I've ever had. I also loved the semi-healthy sweet potato mash that came with it (instead of fries).

Awesome! - Edit
Ordered delivery to our hotel from here when visiting Toronto. We got poutine, southern combo, Caesar salad, wings and a Reuben. Everything was spectacular. I especially loved the poutine, and the collards were a nice balance with the more indulgent foods in the Southern Combo. My omnivore fiancé really loved his food, too. We’ll definitely eat here again.

Best wings and Macaroni and Cheeze in the city. - Edit
Many places have dropped in quality over the past 2 years. Not Hogtown. You still want to come here for your wing fix and why? All three of their options are great, BBQ sauce awesome, Buffalo is another great one and their Dry Cajun wing is similar to KFC. Couldn't believe that last one until I tried it for the first time recently. Macaroni and Cheese is now the best mostly because many other places have worsened.

A must in Toronto - Edit
I am really grateful that there is still at least one location of Hogtown Vegan, despite the COVID-19. I am never deceived when I go there, whatever I take it’s always good. A must is the chicken wings, but everything is good. I really the mac & cheese and also the reuben. The staff is also great and they have a nice patio.

Great indulgent comfort food options! The burger and mac n cheese are amazing, definitely my go-to. The tempeh fish and chips was a bit of a miss for me, but my friend liked it. Really looking forward to trying more of the menu!

Great Food and Great Atmosphere - Edit
Hogtown Vegan has a very cafe/casual feel to it. They have both outdoor and indoor seating with an all inclusive southern-style menu. I ordered the Buffalo wings, a Rueben, and a side of Mac n cheese. Everything was delicious. Nothing too out of the ordinary for vegan food, but it was very enjoyable.

I haven’t actually dined at this location but since covid with it being the only location open I have tried to support them immensely. They hands down have them best Mac and cheese and Caesar salad in the city and the rest of their items are just as tasty.

Easily one of the top vegan restaurants in the city. - Edit
I've adored this place since the original location opened on Bloor street. I've had everything on the menu and nothing disappoints! Whether it's the fries supremacy, bacon cheeseburger (one of the best bacons I've ever had), pulled pork, or unchicken and waffles, it's impossible to go wrong. They've also got a great vegan craft beer selection, including several from local breweries. The staff are incredibly friendly and the service is consistently great. This place stole my heart years ago and it still has it!

Friendly Service - Great Food - Edit
Immediately, as soon as I walked into the place, I was greeted with a friendly ‘hello’ and welcomed. The guy serving me spent time to recommend a beer, recommend some food and later recommend a few places for live music.
Read moreThere were specials which they had been selling to raise money for animal shelters in Australia, this was just after the worst bush fires in recent history which killed millions of animals all over New South Wales. I love that they did this, it shows that their ethics go further then their menu.
The food I had was great! The beer was really good! I wanted to visit the next day but didn’t find the time. I really think this place is worth seeking out.
As a POC I felt no micro aggressions or micro invalidations at all, again, the service was very friendly and personable and not at all overbearing.
Pros: Great beers, Excellent and friendly service, Great food
Cons: The area has few other highlights
