i only give it 3 stars cuz it was nothing crazy… just tofu scramble and potatoes. still very tasty though. and i like having places like this to take non vegan friends to who don’t mess with vegan food… would definitely go back though and try some other dishes!!

K have to admit—for some reason I felt skeptical of this place. I’m always grateful for diners that carry vegan options, but in the past I’ve found they can be kind of flavorless? Happy to report, not the case here!!!
Read moreMy husband and I split the gingerbread waffle and one of their specials, which was a tempeh sweet potato hash with mushrooms, green olives, and spinach and we swapped the eggs for tofu scramble. Both dishes were BOMBBBB (and pretty huge 😅). I wish the special was a regular on the menu! But it makes me excited to try something else in the future.
Don’t sleep on this place for some filling delicious food!

Great menu, almost anything can be made vegan. But definitely check with the server because everything isn’t the best in the vegan version, because it just takes away some of the best ingredients with no replacement option. I stick with their scrambles and the waffle. Their potatoes are the BEST.

For my first visit here, I tried the veggie rumble with scrambled tofu and gingerbread waffles. Everything was available vegan 😻.

We used to frequent this place years ago prior to becoming plant based and loved the food. We’ve since gone back since they reopened and added plenty of vegan options. Most of their vegetarian food can be made vegan. Our breakfast favorites include the gingerbread waffles and the Forager. The coffee is good and plentiful. Staff is friendly.

Been going here over 10 years, even before I was vegan! Nowhere else has a fried rice as good as theirs 😋 their vegan rumble with plain old tofu is my favorite, and go to when I'm in the mood for breakfast. Wasn't a fan of the new yellow spiced tofu, but you can still get plain tofu.

I love fly trap- I always come when I’m in the mood for crispy garlic potatoes. You can make just about anything in the menu Vegan! I saw in a previous review that they had the veggie rumble and the tofu was tasteless tofu cubes- which is true- it’s pretty much like a breakfast stir fry (not my fav) BUT you can ask for tofu scramble and it’s so good! They do all the usual tofu scramble spices.

I got the Veggie Rambler. Mostly potatoes and some veggies. Nothing done to the tofu, pretty much chopped up tasteless cubes. Left feeling like I needed something else. Also, they burnt my toast.

I’ve eaten here dozens of times but first time as a vegan. They have over 15 items that can be made pure plant based vegan, junk food vegan or vegetarian. They are willing to work with you on food swaps and special instructions. Yes, I’ve become that guy but they kept the oil use at a minimum as I requested and of course left out the dairy as well. The FT doesn’t disappoint regardless if you’re vegan or a carnivore.

Ordered pea patch sandwich and it was very tasty, would order it again for sure, did add a bit of salt to the veggies. Side salad can be ordered with tomato dressing which is vegan. Overall very happy with brunch here.

My husband and I found The Fly Trap on a recent visit to the Detroit area. We were impressed with the fun and vibrant interior - this place is very unique and the brand personality takes center stage. The service was wonderful - our server was friendly, had great recommendations and was fast. We ordered the tofu scramble with veggies (my husband says it's the best he's had b/c the veggies were so crisp and fresh), the gingerbread waffle, and the daily special (falafel omlette). Everything tasted great and we were pleasantly surprised at the food quality. While they don't have a ton of vegan/vegetarian items on the menu, they have a few and it's worth stopping by!
