Vegan beer-battered “fish”! - Edit
You wouldn’t expect a pub with this name to have a decent vegan menu, but here we are! I had a beer-battered fish style tofu with chips and homemade tartar sauce. It really hit the spot! The pub also has a nice warm atmosphere, and the chef is a really sound guy. He came out to check on us and you can tell he cares about making quality veggie food. Therefore, I’m looking forward to trying more of the vegan menu- most notably, the vegan Sunday carvery.

Excellent vegan menu - Edit
I have eaten twice here and it is ideal for meeting friends in the centre of Exeter. They cater for all diets - carnivorous, vegetarian and have an extensive vegan option.

When I'm away from home with my work what I want is good solid food and a decent pint. Tonight at the Farmer's Union I got beer battered tofu with mushy peas and chips, followed by apple and treacle tart with soya cream. And reasonable beer. Happy, happy, happy. Good food well presented.

A broad vegan menu! - Edit
Customer service is so-so, they forgot my friend's portion of chips and left out part of my meal. However their vegan menu is extensive compared to a lot of places, and the food is really tasty and good quality. You don't often get an English pub serving vegan food! Would recommend :)

We came in on a late Friday afternoon and enjoyed battered tofu with crisps, and spaghetti with vegan meatballs as well as a very yummy crumble with ice cream while sitting outside in the sunshine.
