Delicious Vegan Fish & Chips 😍 - Edit
I was delighted to find a vegan fish n’ chips option in Woolacombe! The Captain’s Table offers a beer battered banana blossom, served with chips, mushy peas and vegan tartare sauce. I really enjoyed the dish and so did my omni partner. My one recommendation is that the banana blossom could be marinated in seaweed/samphire etc to give it more flavour.
Read moreRestaurant also offers oat milk for hot drinks. I ordered an oat cappuccino which sadly wasn’t the best and seemed to contain very little coffee.
The servers were also really helpful regarding allergy queries.
All in all I appreciated the number of options - a lot more than I expected in a quaint seaside town!
Pros: Decent vegan options, Delicious fish n chips, Helpful with allergies
Cons: Coffee wasn’t the best

Ok! - Edit
The banana blossom fish wasn’t to my taste and the inside was a bit cold. The batter was nice though and the chips were good. The vegan antipasti starter was a bit meh. We wanted to order the vegan dessert but the service was so slow so we left.

Cons: Slow service, Wouldn’t recommend the fish , More vegan options would be good

Friendly cafe with fab vegan fish & chips - Edit
This family (dogs included!) friendly cafe has a couple of vegan options, most notably the vegan fish & chips which are amazing. I actually got them as a takeout so I could join the rest of my family in having the British classic, which was expensive as takeout prices are no different, however the portion is very good & it was nice to join in with my family. Another day I had the tofu Katsu curry, which was rather disappointing, but for dessert I had the vegan cheesecake of the day which even my non-vegan mum thought was delicious.

The fish and chips were made from banana blossom and were really good. The customer service was excellent and it wasn't a very long time to wait for the food to arrive.
