Great Indian food! - Edit
Delicious vegetarian food. Everything on the menu is easily made vegan. Just tell your server you want vegan. The coconut milk yogurt is house made and very good!

We LOVE Thali!!! - Edit
Fresh, healthy and wholesome Indian food. We love the flavors and the fact that the menu varies each time we come back. Plus, it’s all you can eat! An incredible value for this high quality vegetarian food.

Excellent! - Edit
You get a set meal of several small dishes, all you can eat. I wouldn’t have chosen those exact meals off a menu, so it was fun to try them! Also, they are super accommodating to vegans and their coconut milk yogurt was SO GOOD!

Great find! - Edit
These guys are obviously proud of their food and it shows. We read reviews, so were expecting the service might be a little slow, but we weren’t in a hurry. The dishes were excellent and I was happy that it wasn’t particularly spicy. Price for fixed menu seemed reasonable - especially since it’s all you can eat. When we come back to Reno I am hoping We can eat here again.

Looking forward to next time. - Edit
Yep, it was great. They cook what strikes them based on availability of produce so go in prepared to be surprised. Me vegan, ma and friend not, so they had cheese and milk based yogurt, while I got vegan coconut yogurt, homemade, which was awesome. Plus, their vegan chai latte was delicious and I don't usually like chai! And, they share profits with the staff! Really great idea all around and wonderful food.

Excellent Option, We Can't Get Enough - Edit
My wife and I love this place. We only discovered it recently, as we live nearly an hour away, but we've been there twice in the last month and will make any excuse to go back. We are both vegan and my wife is gluten free, so we always have a lot of anxiety about trying to eat out in Northern Nevada. That is not a problem here. I also love the "free refills" policy, as I am a big eater. I had two refills of all four offerings last time and they were all incredible... even the rice had me wondering what that amazing flavor was... and we cook Indian food at home regularly. Help this place thrive so they can open for longer hours! I hope they extend their hours and open a location in Carson City, Minden, or Gardnerville soon.

Incredible! - Edit
This is the best Indian restaurant I have been to. No menu. They serve you a series of dishes and you can get them refilled at no price. Before serving they ask about dietary preferences, and they served me a delicious, fully vegan meal at an affordable cost. I wish I lived in Reno so I could come back all the time.

Variety and Tasty - Edit
All you can eat and you only have one option but it comes with a ton of different small plates. Basically one option with lots of variety, and they'll customize the meal based on your dietary constraints. The dessert was wonderful and healthy as well.

Great! (If you can find it) - Edit
I walked by Thali because the sign on the door says "Reno Supper Club". After wandering around looking for it I gave up and walked into Niko's Greek Kitchen, only to meet Nathan who showed me Thali's room off the common area, which is actually in Reno Supper Club. Only open Sat, Sun, and Mon evenings (now from 5-9), they serve a set menu that you can get in vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. It is all-you-can-eat, in case you need more of any of the dishes. The night I was there I received rice, whole wheat naan, lentils, squash, coconut milk yogurt, and a cabbage dish, along with mango, ginger, and ? chutneys. The Indian food was as good as the best I've had.

This place is amazing!! - Edit
So I could get into Reno's laughable attempts at recreating itself as a cool metropolitan area, rather than sticking with its actual assets -- which is cheap rent and the opportunity that provides for locals to attempt to start small businesses that probably wouldn't fly in a larger city without a lot more capital... but I digress.
Read moreThali is an example of someone doing it right. The West Street Market has a hard time keeping businesses afloat for more than a couple years, so they've turned one of their storefronts - the old location of Bowl - into a 'Supper Club' of rotating restaurants throughout the week. Thali gets the weekends, and serves Indian/Pakistani food far different and better than anywhere else in town (by which I mean the businesses that you can count on one hand that serve either here in Reno).
The food is a plate with five different items served with rice. They always have vegan options, and their wait staff is knowledgable about different diets. A little pricey, but they've mentioned that their vegetables are alls sourced from organic and local farms when possible. My last visit, they mentioned some of the vegetables were grown in Yerington!
Not sure why it took me so long to make it down here - possibly the odd downtown location with horrible nearby parking - but was amazed by the food and have been back twice in the last month!
Definitely a breath of fresh air in Reno's limited vegan food scene. Just make sure you're aware of the dates and hours beforehand!
Pros: Great food., Quality and local ingredients, Friendly staff.
Cons: Limited hours., A little pricey.
