Awesome food in a great location with a great view of the city!

Delicious food and friendly staff. I ordered the mushroom burger and it was so juicy and filling. All proceeds go to the charity animal libre which is an amazing cause here in South America.

Pros: Full vegan menu, Proceeds go to animal rights charity Animal Libre, Friendly staff

Cons: Opens late in the day, Far out of town

Surely one of the best vegan restaurants in Quito

I haven't made an exhaustive survey of vegan food in Quito, but it's hard to imagine anywhere could top Tandana.

The food is inventive, delicious and reasonably priced (pro-tip: try the house bruschetta). The service is wonderful. The views of the mountains beyond southeast Quito are sublime. What's more, Tandana is a non-profit business, and not only are they committed to ethical practices in the running of the restaurant itself, they also support activist causes in Ecuador more generally.

Bottom line: a great experience, highly recommended.

The best vegan spot in Quito!!!

This was by far the very best place that we ate in Quito. It is a cute restaurant tucked into the side of the mountain with amazing views of the city. The menu is amazing. We ordered the pizza and added veggie sausage and ham. We also tried the falafel and soup. Everything we had was absolutely delish! We even came back here for a second time and would have for a third of they weren't closed on Sundays and Mondays. What a great spot!!!

Pros: Great views, Excellent views, Amazing Service

Cons: Not open Sun, Mon, :(

Excellent!

The food and atmosphere of Tandana are simply outstanding. I took an employee's recommendation and had the house made bruschetta, with house made bread, as well as a calzone. Both were amazing. The staff are very friendly and speak English and have an English menu. The restaurant is perched on a hillside overlooking a scenic valley so you have a great view as you enjoy your food. I highly recommend Tandana.

Pros: All vegan , friendly staff , English menu and speakers

Deliciosa comida y gran proyecto

Excelente presentación de los platos, gran variedad, muy buena música.

Pensar que todo esto es sin fines de lucro y todos los fondos van para grandes causas, es aún más alucinante.

great place, tasty and nice atmosphere!

Really really nice place. The reason I have it 4 stars, is because of the pretty loud but mostly restless music.

Best vegan restaurant

Delicious food, great view, cool staff and most of all it is a place where they work everyday to be coherent and to offer a healthy and cruelty free option to the people. It is also a place to learn and discuss about all animal rights (human and non-human).

Pros: Excellent food, Beautiful view, Nice vibe

Got the calzone and was very impressed then the brownie for dessert was warm and absolutely decedent. The mission of the restaurant is wonderful to support too!! If you’re in Quito, this is a must-go for vegans and honestly any type of eater would enjoy this restaurant.

breathe taking views with a solid vegan menu

A little hard to find but worth it (find the park with the view and walk down the steps a bit, you'll find it).
Quinoa soup followed by a calzone. The almond based cheese was simply amazing and very satisfying. Friendly staff that serve you with smiles.
I'll be back!

This place blew me away! My meal was incredible - calzone with fries, chocolate macadamia brownie for dessert and kombucha to drink! The cheese in the calzone was stringy and delicious! Also love how they don’t use plastic ❤️

AMAZING

I was so excited to find this restaurant was pretty much next door to my hostel. If you are in Quito- this is a MUST GO!
There is an outdoor herb garden, house made kombucha, amazing views, and you're at the top of a humble park in the city.
The staff speaks English and Spanish, and I loved that my server even said "We don't believe in borders here". So happy to visit a place that my perspectives were shared with others.
They offer a volunteer program short term for food trade (in the kitchen possibly and in the garden).
This restaurant also donates sales to animal rights groups and sanctuaries- writes "activist restaurant".
I ordered the kombucha with an almond cheese calzone, which came with a side salad. THIS WAS THE BEST PIZZA/CALZONE I've EVER had in my life. This restaurant not only supports a community, but is sustainable and lives up to their values and ethics. The food is amazing and while I sat and at my meal, I had a clear view of the valley below and the mountains with Cotopaxi in the background clearly! It was unreal!
I'M IN LOVE with this place and one day will be back 100%

Pros: landscape views/location, donations to nonprofits, pamphlets about AR, FOOD IS ON POINT

Cons: higher price range

Spectacular view and food

We stopped at Tandana for a respite at the midpoint of our full day tour of Quito and surrounding areas, bringing our non-vegan tour guide with us (or vice versa, I guess). The ambiance of Tandana is great, with a spectacular view looking out over a majestic valley with steep hills. We sat in a row of chairs at a counter in front of the large picture window, and enjoyed the view throughout our stay.

Our lunch choices included tofu curry, calzone, and black bean burger. All were excellent, with the calzone (including vegan cheese and vegan ham) getting highest marks. Our non-vegan tour guide said he enjoyed the burger very much, taking the extra effort to separate the patty from the bun in order to more fully taste (and judge) the flavor and texture of the patty.

We didn't have time to stay for dessert, but took a puff pastry, Milhojas, to go, which was very good.

The restaurant has an excellent, laid back, vibe, with nods to socially conscious causes, such as a sign at the entry saying they welcome refugees.

Pros: Beautiful restaurant, Great food, Socially conscious

Cons: None

The gold standard in vegan fare

Finally made it to this place when my being in Quito and their hours of operation coincided. This is now hands down my favorite restaurant. My buddy and I tried a good variety of what was on the menu . Every thing was good. You may want to try adding the falafel to the carrot soup, they really compliment each other especially when you add the avacodo dip that comes with the falafel to the mix. If you like chocolate like I do the brownies with macadamia nuts are way too good!

Pros: Service in every respect, The view, Quality and tast of the food

Cons: None at all
