Very nice food. Can definitely recommend the Carbonara! The restaurant has its own style and I almost melted cause there was no air conditioning.

I had dinner in the restaurant and it was a nice, calm atmosphere. The food was good and the staff was really friendly. I have to say that my highlight was the "cheese" sauce tho hahaha, never had such a good vegan cheese sauce. The bread of the burger was also super good!

The Balkan Burger from Szabad Bisztro was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere here is chill and inviting. The only issue for me is that there was no AC and it was hot out. The heat was worth putting up with though for this very unique burger and the support of a local vegan business.

This was our 2nd visit after first coming here last year and really enjoying the balcan burger. I chose the Beyond meatballs in garlic and tomato sauce and my wife went for the dirty fries with 'not chicken' nuggets. The fries were a little too salty but the tomato and garlic sauce that the Beyond meatballs are served in was outstanding.

I had the hortobagy pancake and potato casserole. The hortobagy was very flavorful, and it was stuffed with thinly sliced mushrooms. I would’ve personally preferred a protein filling / something more binded, but it was nevertheless an enjoyable experience.
Read moreThe potato casserole was comforting, it had some tofu egg / sour cream and vegan sausages in it. It wasn’t the most flavorful or interesting texture-wise — though I’ve also never had the original Hungarian version, so I don’t have a point of comparison.

Read moreLe burger était impressionnant (taille et saveur). Par contre j’étais déçue du « patty » à la courgette avec la salade grecque qui était un peu tristoune pour le même prix que le burger.
La limonade maison était également un peu décevante (de gros morceaux d’orange et de citron mais au final pas beaucoup de goût).
Hygiène des toilettes très très bof bof …

Service was good. Food was not as anticipated but burgers were good. We also ordered the no-fish and a portion of chips with sausage - both disappointing. Chips were covered in sauces and sausage too spicy for our son. The no-fish was very salty. Would go back but be clear on wanting no sauce or other specialisms for our order. Drinks menu very interesting and different.

Our favorite place in Budapest - Edit
The bistro has a relaxing atmosphere and is an overall chill place. We had the pulled porc (jackfruit) and the balkan burger which were great. On the side we had the dirty fries which were amazing! We also had tasty chili cheeze nuggets.

A little restaurant with punk interior. We had the bean goulash soup (large) and beetroot burger. Both were delicious. The place was full, it took some time before we got served. No default service fee.

3 big dogs in such a small indoor place I don’t believe is the best thing in Horeca (to some people the barking can be quite anxiously too), but would be good maybe to advertise it as dog cafe so people know beforehand 👍🏽

We went there around noon. Had a burger with jackruit. Sadly there was some probleme with the kitchen so we couldn't have fries. Nice little place. Worth a stop if you are nearby.
