Quick and varied selection - Edit
This is a small, simple restaurant with a limited menu. The dishes are broadly Chinese with a Costa Rican twist (e.g., stir-fried plantains). Most people seemed to order the mixed plate, which was a helping of everything that was pre-prepared, like a buffet. There was just one woman doing all the cooking and, for much of the time while we were there, everything else as well, but she seemed to deal with it well. There was only water to drink and the décor could be improved but that would probably drive the prices up.

it is a very nice, small restaurant with good, cheap food.
Pros: we recommend: plato del dia!

Tasty taiwanese - Edit
If you're looking for lunch in downtown San José, not far from the Plaza de la Cultura is Subsida.
They offer veggie taiwanese food a very good prices. Food is as tasty and sweet as taiwanese food gets.
