Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Amazing place - Edit
The food was wonderful, very tasty, albeit maybe a tad too salty, but among the best vegan food I've had. The service was excellent and the decor is calming. however their philosophy is really super. I hope you can read the full description in attached photo. Highly recommend!

Love Střecha, definitely go there, buttt… - Edit
One of the best places in Prague to taste the traditional vegan Czech cuisine. Love the goulash, duck with dumplings, smažák (fried cheese) for a reasonable price. But there is the problem with the kitchen that the meal tastes different every day. You never know what you’ll get.

Really good place for typical vegan food. Had a lovely dinner, the place is cozy and the waiters are really nice. Food is good and they serve big portions. Gulash is 10/10!

Tasty food and good cause - Edit
Great option if you are in Prague and would like to taste traditional food but are vegan - and bonus that you are supporting a very important social cause. The schnitzel and potato salad was delicious!

Excellent lunch - Edit
Yet another five-star review for a Prague vegan restaurant - this city is something else!
Read moreStrecha is not just a nice place that serves great food at great prices in a lovely setting. It is also a social enterprise that works with ex-prisoners and people who have experienced homelessness.
We enjoyed our lunch very much, sharing an exquisite picked tofu before having main courses of schnitzel and kebab salad. The homemade raspberry and mint lemonade was also delicious.
Service was quick, polite, and efficient, while the bill was extremely good value. We added a 'pending lunch' for 150kr that will be enjoyed by someone in need. Even with that, the total was *still* just less than the equivalent of £35. Superb value.
It was a shame we had no space for a dessert because they looked great, too.
Fantastic food and with a social conscience. Couldn't speak more highly of the place. Thoroughly recommended.
Pros: The schnitzel were superb., Extremely good value., Nice surroundings and great staff.

Tasty Czech food - Edit
Střecha had exactly what I was looking for—authentic Czech dishes in a vegan version. We had halušky and knedlíky, and both were super tasty. The place is quite spacious with cozy, tavern-style decor. The staff was super nice, and they all speak perfect English.

Top veganes Restaurant in Prag - Edit

Especially the cheese platter with simply delicious bread is definitely one of the best we have ever tried.

LOVE the concept, dumplings are a bit dry - Edit
I came here twice, tried the stuffed dumplings and the vegan duck cabbage dishes. I love the business so much, the vibe feels like home. I want to be back all the time!!
Read moreThe dishes are overall very flavorful and balanced in flavor. However, the foodie in me has a few notes on the textures! For example, the bread dumplings served with the duck dish was quite dry, and wouldn’t soak up the flavor of the sauce. Similarly, the smoked soy in the stuffed dumplings were a little mushy, and I would’ve preferred a little chew.
Overall though, a wonderful, purpose-driven restaurant that I want to go back to many times.

Love this place - Edit
I love that it is operated by a social coop, the waiters are kind and friendly and they make traditional Czech food without animals. Also, now they have place to change nappies which I think they did not have before. The only downside was that it was not child friendly when I visited with my baby and husband in 2022, but now (2024) it is.

Great concept, great prices - Edit
Great concept, very nice atmosphere and wonderful staff. The pickled tofu is worth a trip on its own, I haven’t stopped thinking about it since and highly recommend it as a must-try. I had the goulash which was rich and deep with flavour though didn’t offer much in texture. I had a “peanut butter brownie” for dessert which tasted more like a banana malt loaf. Highly recommend the blueberry and lavender lemonade. The price was so cheap - three courses, a drink, a 10% tip and one pay-it-forward meal came to £23!
