Sri Ceylon. The food you didn’t realise you needed in your life!

First off, if I could give this place a 5 star review I would, but this is only reserved for fully vegan establishments, so just visualise that missing star, but believe me, this place deserves it.

The couple that run Sri Ceylon, are genuinely the nicest people that you could ever hope to meet, and will do anything they can to accommodate any dietary need you may have. As all of their food is made from scratch with fresh ingredients, they know exactly what it contains, and what you can and cannot eat. And where possible, adapt a dish to make it vegan/vegetarian.

Sri Lankan food is the food that you didn’t even realise that you needed in your life, but trust me, once tried, you will definitely be back. And their specials nights, will give you the chance to experience dishes that aren’t normally on the main menu. As an example,I recently had a beetroot curry, and WOW! You would think it wouldn’t work, but I’ll definitely be eating that again.

The food is all made fresh, using fresh ingredients, and it definitely shows. It’s packed full of flavour and as a result, they never need to use MSG or other flavour enhancers.

The couple that own and run the place are genuinely the nicest people that you’ll ever meet. They go above and beyond other restaurants to make sure that you leave there both full and happy.

To sum up. You need Sri Lankan food in your life and this place is a hidden gem in Sunderland. Find it, eat there and thank me later.
