Plenty of vegan options

Ate here for dinner. The restaurant has a vegan part of the menu. I had tofu saag. The saag was delicious but the tofu texture was strange.

Pros: Plenty of options

Happy for vegan menu

Just like others said, I hope they will mark the appetizers, since we hate to bug the staff. We got the coconut vegetables and aloo gobi and were well pleased. Mild had some tingle, which I was glad for. It is fun to sit in the windows. Fast service. They have a bar with some funny drink specials listed with very lusty names, lol. We will be back when we are in town again.

Not bad

OK Indian food, vegan options (main dishes) marked clearly on the menu. Wish they had appetizers labeled as well. Not super flavorful as you would expect from Indian cuisine but fresh and tasty

Delicious vegan options!

Absolutely delicious! We got takeout while in town visiting from the Boston area. What a fantastic find!! Amazing food, a great range of well marked vegan options, and seamless online ordering and takeout experience. We will definitely come back again the next time we are in town!

Great vegan selection

We ordered saag tofu and coconut vegetables with tofu and both were excellent. There is a dedicated vegan section of the menu with several great options. We would definitely come back here next time we’re in town!

Decent vegan food

There’s a section of the menu specifically for vegan items, which includes a bunch of dishes including tofu equivalents of paneer dishes (like saag tofu, which is my favorite). There’s also a separate vegetarian section. The food is good enough, but doesn’t pack a ton of flavor. For me, it’s not spicy enough, and can sometimes be a bit salty.

Pros: Plenty of vegan options, Friendly staff, Good deals for lunch buffet

Cons: Not fully vegetarian/ vegan, Not spicy enough, Sometimes too salty

Vegan menu & lunch buffet w/ vegan options

My favorite local restaurant for lunch--buffet has at least three vegan offerings. Nan on buffet is not vegan, but roti from the menu is. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Tofu sag is my favorite menu item.

well seasoned indian food

We went to Spice Root for dinner while staying in Williamstown. The Restaurant was empty when we arrived and one of our glasses was dirty. Otherwise the food was nice, they have about 7 dishes marked as vegan.

lots of vegan options

Lots of great Vegan options and a great staff. Our non-vegan friends love the food also. The review tool will not let me change the "cons" in this review...I don't consider Spice Root expensive.

The best Indian food.

I went to this restaurant with my husband while we we recently in the Berkshires for a weekend trip to see the area including Mt. Greylock. We looked into places to eat in the area that were vegan. We went to Elf Parlor but it was closed. So we decided to do Indian food, we did not even know they had a vegan menu. We were psyched. We got Samosas, Dal Sag and Nan. The food was amazing. The Dal Sag was excellent, you could tell it was fresh and so tasty. The combination of flavors was awesome. We were so impressed. They even told us how to get the Nan so it would be vegan. That is why I added this place to Happy Cow.
