nice - Edit
good for a quick takeout, has some vegan options but sadly they are not a fully veg place anymore. all three soups are vegan and they offer wraps and breads with shoarma or rendang made from mushrooms. also has smoothies, the banana one has spirulina added to it making it blue!

Satisfying Shoarma - Edit
We actually came here last night, but they were closed early with no notice. We returned today, and I ordered a Shoarma Wrap, which includes oyster mushroom shoarma, lettuce, cucumber, pineapple, carrot, cabbage, onion, and tzatziki sauce. The tasty wrap was prepared by the friendly co-owner Kariem, who also chatted with us. We didn't see a recycling bin, so my partner asked if they recycle aluminum foil (from the wraps). Kariem said yes, and took it from us, but I'm curious why there's no bin for customers to use.

FWIW, I don’t know about Utrecht but many larger Dutch cities have fancy recycling equipment that automatically separates garbage. This is much better than manual recycling, much more actually ends up being recycled. have no idea why this isn’t implemented country wide. But in general, not seeing recycling bins in NL doesn’t mean there is no recycling

Anti-vegan staff. Avoid this place - Edit
The food is just regular snack bar/eatery, simple sandwich and a choice of soups. While I was eating, the guy at the counter asked two very young women ordering why they were eating vegan and if they knew the long term consequences. He gave them a long lecture about the fats one needs from food and whether vegan food provided them. They were visibly uncomfortable but clearly too shy to cut it short. He was so busy with the ladies that he didn’t pay attention to whether I paid (I did) and chased me to the street to question it. Don’t bother with this place.

Finally good soup again! - Edit
Sometimes during lunch you just want a nice soup to warm you up. And boy do they provide! Had a great sandwich with it too and on top of all that the guy in the shop was so knowledgeable and sweet. I am definitely going here again. I had the Suriname soup which was great and my friend the harira soup which was even better! Would highly recommend. Please note they are more of a takeaway company but we sat warm and Cosy at a little bar.

Please provide real bowls - Edit
The waiter was very nice. The soups : tomatoes or pumpkin tasted good. The happy hummus combined well with soup. The experience would be even better if we could have solid bowls instead of the paper cup. The menu on the door was different then the one available inside. Note that it is possible to bring your own cup.

Happy surprise - Edit
I opened the HappyCow app on a sad and cold day and discovered I was exactly in front of this place. Since there are so many good reviews, I decided to try. Got a pumpkin soup to go. You can drink like if it was a coffee, super original, love it! It was just what I needed. Made my day better.

All vegan, eager to please and delicious 😊 - Edit
Kariem is the young and super sweet owner who is so happy that you came into his little cafe, the concept of which he started a couple of years ago with his brother. He knew well about HappyCow and in fact has one of their stickers in his window.
Read moreAll vegan and delicious, we had the red lentils, tried the surinamese pea, the pumpkin, and the zucchini. They happily gave us tastes of any soup we wanted.
We added the happy hummus and the gluten-free sandwich. All fresh, healthy and homemade, really SO GOOD.
I could feel my body reacting positively after all the french fries and crap we've eaten because it's so hard to find healthy vegan options when you don't really know a city yet.
A little window into how kind he is, he makes conversation with all his customers and one girl mentioned that when they had just opened she came in looking for coffee. At that time they did not serve coffee (they do now) but he told her to sit down and he would go brew a cup especially for her.
They want to expand into other cities including Amsterdam.

When I was here with my own tupperware, the staff member used packaging anyway (by mistake?), so I didn’t save waste despite my efforts.

Delicious and healthy lunch option! - Edit
This very small restaurant makes amazing soups (8 different kinds when I visited) and even better focaccia sandwiches! 🍜 The soups are well seasoned, you can try a small amount before getting a big cup, and the owner is super chatty and friendly. The focaccia with hummus and fresh veggies was warm, crunchy and oh so flavorful 🤤 For dessert they have a sugar free banana bread sweetened with banana and dates! It looks dry but is actually super tasty and cinnamony. So: perfect for a quick, healthy and filling lunch!

Delicious & healthy plant-based soups - Edit
Great place to get a delicious soup to go, on the go or to eat in. The soups are available in three sizes and there are more than enough choices. Either for a quick soup to snack on or to have an easy and quick dinner, this place is always a good option. They will let you taste a soup first if you like. All plant-based, fresh and very tasty!
