Take-out
Spicy, traditional Thai fare. Similar set up to Hong Ming around the corner: rice (not brown, bit of red mixed with white) and variety of buffet/bain marie dishes served on rice. Open Mon-Sun 6:00am-3:00pm. Often closes at midday.

Really good and cheap - Edit
I went there once in the morning and actually the food was really tasty, they had many different options! Rice with two toppings for 40 bath and extra salad. They had also little stall on Walking Street night market with different kinds of fried noodles with tofu for 30 bath. Enjoyed it.

Hilariously cheap food - Edit
Plates are 30 baht, 40 for a large serving. Served over red and white rice. Free water and a plate of sides. Authentic Thai food and not touristy whatsoever. Sadly no cats to be found when we went :(

Another great ‘jay’ place - Edit
Another brilliant little ‘jay’ (Thai for Buddhist vegetarian) place. Buffet style, free water and salad. Friendly cats and super cheap! Location is indeed wrong (it’s near Hong Ming) but I have submitted the change to HappyCow.

typical Thai style vego restaurant - Edit
This restaurant is located in the same street as Hongming and it is a typical Thai style vego restaurant similar to Hongming ... the food is cooked and displayed in an unheated bain-marie and served at room temperature ... I had a sampler plate (little bit of 4 items on display with rice ) for ฿40 ... centrally located near Krabi walking street ... the resturant was cool and clean with friendly staff

Next to Hong Ming - Edit
Directions are not accurate. It is a few businesses down from Hong Ming so use that as your navigation. The place in the photo is currently an empty business. I ate at Hong Ming a couple times and wanted to try this place out. A lady came right out to greet me. From the look and smell, I decided just to go back to Hong Ming. Feel bad giving a star rating because I didn’t eat here, I just wanted to post a review about the directions!

Don't go! - Edit
40 baht for a plate of rice with two toppings, 10 baht extra if you want soup with it. Never seen such unfriendly service in Thailand, the lady that served the food just makes a point of hating you, and not hiding it at all, you just loose your appetite! The servings for the toppings were very small and didn't taste good as well. What a shame for a jee place!! Definitely not going back..

a couple doors down from hong ming. - Edit
so many yellow 'jai' flags and a fairly large space and sitting area. it was just a couple doors down from hong ming. priced at 40 baht for rice and two toppings. portions were smaller than hong ming and they were not nearly as friendly at all. it felt like we disrupting their mid morning gossip session. we only went there because it was sunday and hong ming was closed. food was okay. to be honest i was put off by their attitude more than anything. probably would only go back if it were sunday and i didn't have any other options.

yes, it's there and yes, it's good - Edit
As other reviewers found it hard to find, first about the location
Read moreLuangpho.street has a street sign where it reaches the riverside. From Maharaj street is is the sidestreet opposite the Shell petrol station. The restaurant is on the south side on the eastern block.
It's a small place with the sort of lunch buffet you'd expect. Tastes delicious. Slightly more expensive than simular restaurants but still dead cheap.

Didn´t find this, maybe located on Phruksauthit Rd - Edit
I checked more than ten Krabi Town maps in the internet and I did not find a street named Luangpho, so I wonder what this adress Thanon Luangpho is.
Read moreIn Thanon Utarakit between Thanon Issara and Maharaj Soi 10 there was no vegetarian restaurant either.
But on Thanon Phruksauthit (Phruksauthit Road) behing Thanon Utarakit there is two jay-vegetarian restaurants almost next to each other. The other is Hongming, that is already listed here in Happy Cow. The other is not. Could this be the other one?
Cons: Did not find this
