Lovely vegan options - Edit
We had the lentil and spinach burger, and the purple gnocchi, both were super tasty!

Not good - Edit
I hate giving a negative review and hope that my experience was due to Covid.
Read moreThe one vegan dish (chickpea and squash curry) was awful. No vegan starter or pudding. I ate with none vegans and they were also disappointed (everything was deep fried or microwaved).
Finally, the price point was way too high for the quality of the food and lack of imagination in the menu. The Sloop should not be seen as vegan friendly.
Cons: Expensive for quality, Lack of vegan options and no thought given to the , one available vegan dish

Horrible food and expensive. - Edit
Very few vegetarian options. I made the mistake of ordering the butternut squash and chickpea curry. It was overcooked to the point of death with absolutely no flavours at all. The worst curry ever. Accompanied by tasteless rice. No welsh staff to be seen anywhere. This used to be a locals pub specialising in seafood, now its a tourist trap run by outsiders. Beer at London prices. Never again.

Cons: Few veggie options, Nasty freezer- to -microwave fare, Expensive food and beer at London prices.

Disappointing - Edit
Only one vegan option available, curry. It was okay but accompanying chips and rice were only lukewarm.

Oasis in the desert... - Edit
We were staying in Porthgain while hiking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path and were glad to find a place that offered vegan options on the menu. We both had the burger, which normally would be nothing to write home about, but after a day of waking and in the middle of the welsh country side it was a more than decent dinner. We came back for breakfast in the morning, and it was good and filling as well. Fried mushroom, tomatoes, baked beans, avocado and toast. Friendly staff and really the only option if you don’t have a car. But much more than just a last resort :)
