Lots of options… Mostly flavorless

The Dave sandwich sounds promising, but unfortunately was incredibly bland, boring, and was mostly bread. I can’t comment on the tacos. However, the vegan pizza and fries were solid!

Pros: Fries, NA options, Outdoor seating

Cons: Bland sandwich

Best vegan sandwich ever

I got The Dave sandwich and it’s one of my top 5 vegan meals of all time. 10/10 I can’t wait to come back to Durango. Also the beer is amazing here.

Pros: Amazing sandwich, Great beer, Solid other vegan options

Cons: Ska isn’t in town, so you’ll have to drive there

Bustling Brewery with Vegan Options

The brewery was packed when we got there and ended up sitting at the bar which really wasn't a problem - closer to the beer, right? There are a few vegan options on the menu and the staff is knowledgeable. We ended up splitting a build-your-own pizza which was plenty for the both of us. We ordered it with the spicy marinara sauce topped with red peppers, mushrooms, kalamatas, and vegan cheese. We asked if they could add tempeh to the pizza and they accommodated with a slight upcharge for it. It was outstanding! Not sure what vegan cheese they use. But, it was melty and gooey. Very satisfying after a long day of hiking.

Pros: Vegan options on menu, Good food, good ambience, Great beer selection

Cons: May take a little longer for food in peak time

Vegan options few but good

Ska Brewing is a meat-centric place, but we appreciate that they make the effort to provide a few plant-based options. “The Dave” is a tasty and filling tempeh sandwich served with a choice of sides including salad (vegans can request the house salad with the vinaigrette) and fries. Other options are tempeh tacos or pizza with vegan cheese.

The pizza is wood-fired, with a soft and bready (rather than crispy) crust, and the vegan cheese seems like one of the processed commercial ones (with a somewhat Velveeta-like texture that we don’t love), so next time we would just order it with no cheese at all. It would be a big improvement if they were to make their own cashew cheese instead.

Service is warm and helpful. There’s indoor seating as well as ample outdoor seating when weather permits, and the slightly removed location makes the patio a pleasant choice. No surprise that this place is so popular that it can be crowded even outside the usual lunch and dinner hours.

We would come more often if they added a few more vegan items to the menu.

A favorite!!

Can’t believe this wasn’t already on Happycow…but now it is. Yippee! “The Dave” is 100% vegan and is always on their menu (comes with a fresh side salad), as is their vegan tacos (blue corn or flour tortillas). If you want pizza, they have vegan cheese option for a minimal up charge. While your waiting for a tasty vegan meal, take advantage of delicious beer made on site. They also have non-alcoholic options. Pet and family friendly location.

Pros: Pet friendly outdoor seating , Friendly staff , Vegan options plus beer - yum!

Cons: Might want to double up corn tortillas
