Fast, healthy tofu bowl - Edit
I stop here frequently when passing through Durango. I love the bowl or burrito with brown rice, black beans, tofu, veggie green chile, lettuce, red cabbage, cilantro, and salsa...and sometimes guac. It's nice that you can get a "baby bowl" or "baby burrito" when you're "kind of hungry" but not hungry enough for a huge meal. Be careful about up-charges: the green chile + tofu counts as a "double" which currently means $3.50 more (same up-charge as double meat, which honestly feels a bit unfair for a scoop of stewed peppers), but it is VERY delicious (not too spicy, just a bit). They also charge per scoop of guac.
Read moreThe beans are from SW Colorado farms. They pay decent wages to employees, I'm told. It's a good place for a protein-rich vegan meal, but mind your up-charges if you're on a budget.
All in all, the tofu bowl there is on of my favorite healthy "fast food" meals in this area.
Pros: Tofu, Delicious, locally grown beans, Fast (as long as you don't hit the lunch rush)
Cons: Up-charges, Lunch rush can mean long lines

Chipotle on Steroids! - Edit
So many choices! Beans, Rice, Sweet Potatoes, Veggies, Tofu, Salsa, Guacamole. I ate here 3 times in a week and made a different concoction each time. They don’t have Dairy-free cheese but that stuff doesn’t taste very good anyway. Try nachos piled with all the vegan goodies smothered in Avocado Tomatillo! Oh ya!

OK in a pinch - Edit
Zia has a few vegan options, but they aren’t labeled. Note the sweet potatoes are *not* vegan.

It's Good But Questionably Worth It - Edit
The food was good but they don't give free extras. Chipotle is cheaper and you get more for your buck.

Gets pricy fast - Edit
A lot like chipotle, but unlike chipotle, the quantities are precisely portioned, and if you ask for extra of ANYTHING, they tack on an extra .50 cents or a dollar. This meal can get very expensive, very fast. The food is ok and the atmosphere is pretty good.

Cons: Get ready to spend a lot of money

yum - Edit
I went to the Main St location. It's very similar to Chipotle, Qdoba, CA Tortilla, etc... but I think I like this best! I like that they have 3 types of beans and 2 types of rice that are vegan. I like their grilled veggies because unlike the aforementioned places they don't put peppers in them (I'm picky about peppers, but heads up they also have the usual fajita veggies). I really like their medium/traditional homemade salsa!

Fresh and flavorful food in Durango - Edit
Zia is one of the few places in the 4 Corners area that I can count on for fresh, tasty, and pretty healthy vegan food. You can get a burrito or a bowl, or one of their other menu options. I personally like to get a bowl, as I try to avoid refined white flour.
Read moreThey have a lot of really great toppings (it's Chipotle-style where they make your food in an assembly line to order). The beans are all vegan (three options there), and they have two vegan rice options - one is brown rice! I really like the mango habanero salsa (it's not THAT hot), and guacamole. They have lots of other flavorful components too, that really jazz up your entree (such as green chili, sauteed veggies, pico de gallo, and salsas).
Plus, the staff is consistently friendly and professional!
Pros: healthy options, food is fresh and flavorful , lots of vegan items on the bar
Cons: not organic
