Great location, disappointing food - Edit

Friendly service and the central location are definite positives. I actually enjoyed the food more on my previous visit back in May 2016. The menu hasn't changed but this time it was a grey wet winters day so I chose a cooked rather than raw option. I picked the miso ramen was a bit salty for my taste and a bit uninspiring. Disappointing. The smorgasbord and raw cakes that I had on my previous visit were however delicious.

Pros: Location close to the round tower, English spoken , Friendly service

Cons: Variable food, Dairy milk for tea/coffee

Cake and burger :) - Edit

So it's not 100% raw as the name kind of indicate. But it's delicious. I love their rawcakes, the portobellopaté on rawbread and the burgers :)

Pros: Super good :)

Cons: To bad the one in Vesterbro closed :(

So fresh - Edit

A really good place if you are craving really fresh food. I had the rice paper rolls with avocado and an avocado burger and it was heavenly. Even for Copenhagen standard I would say it is a bit pricey, but really yummy.

Pros: good food, nice staff , central location

Cons: pricey

A lifesaver during the Christmas period - Edit

I was in Copenhagen over the Christmas period and was planning to visit some restaurants while there, having forgotten that some places shut down over the entire holiday period, sometimes not opening again until the second week of January. Of course, I was not really expecting anything to be open on Dec. 24th or 25th, but thought that some places would open again in the days following. Not too many did!

Luckily, one of the ones that did reopen on the 26th was Simple Raw. And extra-luckily, it is a really great place. Good food, friendly servers and spacious!

I went twice during my short stay in the city and got to try their (non-raw) burger, seed bread, summer rolls (called "rice paper" on the menu), raw lime cheesecake (so good!) and a matcha lattè.

The restaurant is on the lower level of an old building in a very cute square that photographers will not want to miss. Inside, warm and natural lighting is provided by over-table lamps and skylights.

Highly recommended!

Pros: great food, nice ambiance, spacious, friendly staff

Good Food - Edit

Really nice environment. I had a raw salad bowl with tofu, mago, cauliflower rice and it tasted great. It was december and really cold outside so really wanted warm food but this still filled me up for lunch. Wish I had time to go back again for dinner. It was healthy and had a good menu.

Pros: Tasty

Non-Raw Vegan and I loved it! - Edit

While I was craving something warm after a cold and rainy day, I ended up getting a cold zucchini noodle bowl, but the flavor was still fantastic. The chickpeas were my favorite, and I got a raw cheesecake to finish the meal. Great wine options, as well!

Pros: Vegan wine, Great food

Nice brunch - Edit

I came here for brunch and chose the brunch plate which consisted of a nice variation of different things. The lemon cake was the most delicious. I was there by the time they opened on a Sunday, so the place was nice and quiet. Friendly staff.

Poor service - Edit

I waited at my table for 20 minutes, during a not particularly busy lunch hour, before giving up and leaving. I imagine the food's alright, though overpriced, but leaving a customer waiting with no service at all is unacceptable.

Cons: Service

delicious not-only-raw vegan food - Edit

Ate here for dinner on a Sunday night and the kitchen closed at 7.30pm so operating hours listed here not necessarily correct all the time. Lovely and friendly staff. I had a carrot, apple, lemon ginger fresh juice and my other half had a full bodied ale; both enjoyed in equal measure. The food was hearty, wholesome and more-ish! We had the sour-"cream" and onion kale chips which were really tasty. We then had the seed bread shared-plate and selected as our three choices the avocado (best), the veggie patty (very good) and the portobello pâté (both of us are mushroom lovers, but it was to not to our tastes). Then we had a spicy salsa and a "cheese" burger served with dehydrated root veg. They were exceptionally delicious and filling. We were more than sated, but couldn't turn down dessert and went for the raw cheesecake and lemon cream pie - both good to the last bite. Friendly, comfortable atmosphere - highly recommended.

Very nice vegan food - Edit

SimpleRaw has a very nice vegan burger which you can have with vegan cheese. Unfortunately they hadn't any chips anymore so we got some salad with it and kale chips. The kale chips where surprisingly nice. We also had a dessert which were very good. I loved the vegan cheesecake!

Pros: tasty, nice location

Cons: kind of expensive

Friendly staff, good food - Edit

Food was good over all. The almond milk milkshake was nice, as were the summer rolls (listed rice paper rolls on the menu).

I had the king oyster mushroom ramen as a main, and it was quite nice, although not the best I've had. Could have done with a little more flavour in the broth, and also a few more chunks of mushroom. A mixture of mushrooms and tofu would be the best combination in my opinion.

Next time I go, I think I'll have the vegan burger instead, as that looked delicious. Overall, a nice place to eat, friendly staff, and good food.

Accepts credit cards. Reasonably priced

Pros: Accepts credit cards, Reasonably priced

great vegan food - Edit

Good location. Sat outside and listened to some like music in the square while eating my noodles and drinking my juice. The cheesecake was good but a bit small. I would recommend stopping and checking it out. Staff was very friendly. Menu in Danish and english.

Pros: all vegan, good location

Fantastic food! - Edit

SimpleRAW is an extremely cozy small shop in the hearth of Copenhagen. It offers outside as well as inside seats. The place is nicely furnished in modern Skandinavian style and the ambience was very quiet and neat when we visited. The menu offers a selection of raw and vegan plates, ranging from snacks and brunches, to main courses and desserts. The food was extremely good and the presentation was impeccable too. I personally recommend their portobello paté on seed bread and the portobello hot ramen. You can't leave without tasting the amazing triple chocolate cake, one of the best I've ever tried (not limited to vegan ones). If you're in Copenhagen, this is a must!

Loved it! - Edit

I went there during my one-day trip to Copenhagen : it was recommended by a friend of mine and I wasn't disappointed! I went for the burger : the bread was really nice (and gluten-free), but I didn't like the dehydrated sweet potatoes crisps that were pretty tasteless and so was the sweet chili sauce... I missed a little kick here :)
BUT the waitress was so lovely and she got me a taste test from both the lemon and raspberry cheesecake because I couldn't make up my mind: Loved the raspberry one, the lemon cheesecake was way to sweet for me and not so tangy as I wished it would be. Overall a nice dining experience, If I get back there I'll try more raw foods!

Pros: lovely place and staff, good food but not the best, nice concept

Cons: pricey

highly creative, super fresh - Edit

Really enjoyed my meal, which was shared plates, tapas style. We had seed-bread open sandwiches, veggie sushi (rice paper rolls) with kale chips. So nicely presented, so fresh! We had blended juices to drink and fabulous cheesecake dessert. I should also mention that the location is really cute.

The best raw place in town - Edit

I'm wondering what happened to this place, considering the amount of negative reviews as of lately?

I do agree that the zucchini noodles isn't very good, but I'm also not very fond of curry.

The burger is nice, the brunch is so good, their juices are excellent - the best in town, I would say and their desserts are too die for.

Pros: All vegan

ncie place - Edit

We had our first meal in Copenhagen here for lunch. The space is nice and bright and was relatively empty as it was a late lunch. We ordered the zucchini noodles and mushroom ramen soup along with juices/shakes and a dessert. The food was all wonderful. I would give them a five except I saw on the menu that they offer dairy milk for their coffees.

Pros: tasty, nice atmosphere

Cons: dairy milk for coffee

boring and hullet disapointing - Edit

Was so excited to have dinner at this very sweet spot on a gorgeous summer night. Unfortunately the food was totally burning, uninspired. We shared the zucchini noodles, the seed bread plate and the burger and none of the dishes rose to the occasion. Bummer because restaurant is cute and location amazing.

Disappointing experience - Edit

The menu was not very extensive. Only one choice of zucchini noodles (zoodles) - and it was quite spicy, not so good for a raw food. It seemed like chef is trying to hide tasteless food behind the spices. I know that it is possible to make tasty zoodles without much spices so more effort from the staff would be appreciated. Staff was always busy with something, not paying much attention to us. Prices are high.

Pros: Location

Cons: prices

pricey - Edit

Our friends recommended SimpleRAW to us because me and my husband are high raw vegans. Well, it really didn't work out. The menu lacks fresh ideas - the only raw main was zoodles! Most of the food on the menu isn't even raw, which is kind of weird for a place with a name like SimpleRAW. Well, it's simple all right... The food is really, really pricey too. 95 DKK for three slices of seed bread was waaaaaaay overpriced, and so was the rice paper rolls I got. A handful of cabbage, a few slices of pineapple and a single sheet of rice paper cost me around 60 DKK.

Pros: Nice atmosphere

Cons: pricey

We ordered everything on the menu - Edit

We ordered everything on the menu. The food was tasteless and the desserts gone bad. The only thing that was good in this place was the location.

Pros: Location is great

delicious dessert - Edit

First off: delicious dessert!! It was a long wait to get seated and even longer to get our food (they knew that and brought us a free apology kale chips snack which was delicious). The burger came and it was... Okay... Not great not bad, just okay. It missed some sauces and filling. Their rice paper roles were good though, I will recommend those. The place missed spirit to be honest, not a great vibe or service in general. It's got such a great vision, but it's simply not working. Problem is my veggie friend told me they had the same experience, so apparently I didn't come on a bad night.. Hope they step their game up soon.

Pros: great dessert and kale Chips

Cons: the service is stressed

cakes are good - Edit

I have tried the burger from the old menu, the bun was good but the patty tasted somehow burnt and heavy and it was impossible to tell what it was made of. I prefer honest veggie patties where you can taste the ingredients. In the new menu the patty seems to be different though, and much better, judging by the piece I tried from my friend's plate. Discouraged by my previous burger experience, I ordered the ramen from the new menu but it was really disappointing! It was dull grey cloudy soup with heavy dose of pepper and nothing else, none of that delicious umami taste that I was expecting. I asked the waitress if that's how it's supposed to be and she said it is "quite spicy". However, it was not spicy in the way you'd expect, just simply full of black pepper and the taste was downright horrible. I am still not sure if the chef had an accident with the pepper jar or if that is really what they sell, sincerely believing that it tastes good! The lemon cake I had as a dessert fortunately recovered by taste buds and saved the lunch. All the cakes I've tried - chocolate, lemon, and raspberry, are delicious, although quite heavy.

Intricate and Raw - Edit

This place was gorgeous, well-decorated with friendly staff and pictured menus so it's easy to see what's happening if you speak minimal or no Danish.

The portions were pretty big and tasty with lots of interesting flavours I wouldn't expect to see together. Not quite as simple as you'd imagine but very delicious.

Overall this was a nice experience and I'd definitely recommend.

Pros: Friendly staff, tasty food

Cons: quite expensive

Delicious! - Edit

I tried the cheesecake, the burger and chai latte with almond milk. Everything was delicious.
The quality of the ingredients is a good reason of the price.
And the staff is very friendly and they have a varied menu to suit everyone's tastes.

Delicious deserts, ok mains - Edit

This is a mid-sized restaurant somewhere between formal and informal, with a warm atmosphere and relaxing background music. I came here for dinner with my partner and it was not necessary to book, at least on a weekday, with the staff being polite and helpful - they speak English which helps as the menu is in Danish, although the food is pictured, and the service was fast but they did not hurry us between courses. The menu is completely raw except for coffee and fully vegan. We split both the burger - which comes with salad, and tapas number one, which consists of 18 nori-like cabbage and rice paper rolls (filled with carrot, aubergine and pineapple) and two dipping sauces. Both were good, but not amazing, as the rolls didn't have that much flavour and the salad was quite sour. However, we then shared the desert tapas, of eight mini-desserts including chokoladbollar, cheesecake, stracciatella sauce and fruit, which was delicious! The cakes were very rich, but the tapas portions meant that they were just the right size to enjoy. I also got a glance into the kitchen as I went to the toilets (which are up many stairs - overall it's not a wheelchair friendly place), and I could see that the food is prepared freshly. The two mains, two teas, one desert and one coffee came to 585 DKK, which for Copenhagen is not too expensive, but I did expect the mains to "wow" me a bit more to justify the price. Overall though I would return, but it's not my favourite vegan place in the city.

Raw raw - Edit

Very good option in you are into the raw vegetarian food. The menu was not in English but the waitress kindly translated it to us.

Good taste, nothing innovative or out of this world but overall recommended.

Pros: Tasty food, Superfriendly staff

Cons: Not cheap

Great raw cake - Edit

I went there for their 5th Anniversary where they were offering a piece of free cake to the 1st 1000 people. I had a strawberry cheese cake. It was good. The meals however are quite expensive. Inside is small and cosy.

Pros: Vegan, Delicious Clean Food

Cons: Expensive

simple and raw - Edit

Nice and quiet restaurant with a clean (almost sterile) feel to it. As far as I could see, everything on the meny (except the coffee) was raw. Food is good but to my taste quite basic and not amazing. Prices are ok for what you get.

Great food and friendly staff - Edit

We loved the food there. It's amazing and well-presented.
The place was newly opened so when we sat indoors, the paint fume annoyed me a bit.

Pros: Tasty, Good looking food, Nice staff

Cons: Pricey, Lingering smell of paint

Great new location - Edit

I have always enjoyed Simple Raw and was glad to hear of this new location in the middle of CPH. The new location is excellent. It's much larger and so can accomodate more people and quite comfortably. There is also outdoor seating.

The food is the same as in the other location, so excellent. The service is also friendly and we got our food relatively quickly.

Pros: Great location, Can accomodate larger groups, Great food

Cons: Pricey
