Denmark travel note: Eating lacto-vegetarian is possible but eating vegan is a constant challenge. While majority of restaurants will offer at least one vegetarian option, the dish will likely contain dairy and perhaps also egg. Whole grain bread is easy to find as are lacto-veggie sandwiches from fast food sandwich shops. In the capital city of Copenhagen, vegetarian travelers will be able to find vegetarian and veg-friendly restaurants. And here's good news for health: In August 2007, Denmark passed a law banning cigarette smoking inside all restaurants. Smokers can smoke out on the patio, and diners can now enjoy smoke-free environment inside.
