Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

I was always open to eating vegetarian was a semi vegetarian (Pollo-pescetarian)for 17 years. I started to eat a plant-based diet in the fall of 2012, initially for health reasons. I found that I felt a lot better with regard to my allergies and lactose intolerance, so it was easy to transition and stick to eating a vegan diet. As an animal lover,I also began to have a philosophical view about what it means to be vegan and so now avoid animal products as much as possible in other parts of my life.

HappyCow is a great resource, both locally and for when I travel to other parts of the world.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

I love all food, but my favorites are foods that I enjoyed before I went vegan and that I have been able to "veganize". For example, pizza, lasagna, chinese food, mac and cheese, etc.
