Delicious healthy food

When I was doing the ring road vegan and vegetarian restaurant were a bit of a rare find, so when we found this one we were delighted, situated in a little bit of an odd location, the food, the staff and the views are lovely. They do some lovely raw desserts and the food is so full of flavour.

Pros: Raw desserts , Salad bar

Great place with home-like atmosphere

This is the only place of this kind in Northern Iceland, and therefore a must! Great place where you will feel like home, all the food is home-made with love, you can also buy their loaf of home-baked spelt bread and take it with you. The location is very quiet and peaceful, but unreachable without a vehicle.
The menu is quite brief and portions rather small, but very filling. I had a veggie burger which, suprisingly, came with no side dish, but since you can use the salad bar and bread unlimitedly, you will end up pretty stuffed! Desserts are great, too. Staff is nice and helpful, and of course speaking English fluently, as anywhere else in Iceland.
Pity that the opening hours are so short, and that from next year, they will only open for pre-booked groups. This restaurant would indeed deserve much bigger attention.

Pros: Very healthy and home-made food, Only vegetarian place in Northern Iceland, Friendly staff

Cons: Location requires a car, Opening hours, Bit pricey

Like Nowhere Else

This is probably the northernmost vegetarian restaurant in the world.
A bit hard to get there if you don't have a car.
My dish was a bit bland, my friends was good.

hit or miss

We visited this place three times during our stay on Iceland. It is great to find a nice place with good food in the middle of nowhere. The food was kind of hit or miss though. For example, the tortilla with mango chutney was really good, but the lentil stew was a bit tame. Since the menu changes daily, it is really a matter of luck. Each day they had good soup with bread though. Probably the northernmost vegetarian restaurant of the world. Recommended.

Pros: only veg place in 100s of miles, great scenery, northernmost veg restaurant worldwide(?)

Cons: food was hit or miss, difficult to reach

Amazing restaurant near Akureyri

If you're traveling in Iceland and looking for a place to stop in for some real food, this is the place. It's has a cozy atmosphere and they don't mind how long you hang out. It was like a veg haven in the north!

The food is great and healthful and they have plenty of vegan options. The only non-vegan things they had on the menu when we were there were feta cheese and creamer/milk. Everything else was either vegan or raw. They have a soup of the day with bread and crackers. They have vegan entrees, but all of their entrees can be made vegan by removing the cheese. I think they also have the biggest selection of raw food I saw in any restaurant while we was there. The coffee and desserts were amazing too!

Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, Great food, Desserts and drinks

Cons: Some dairy on the menu
