Simple but nice - Edit
We found this restaurant easily, it's colourful and our waiter was friendly.
Read moreI had the daily special for 50DM, which consisted of a tomato salad starter and a choice of either vegetable cous cous or tagine for a main. I chose the cous cous. The portion was large with chunky vegetables but not much flavour.
Pros: friendly service, lots of choice, colourful decor
Cons: food lacked flavour

Worth the wait! Best in Essaouira! - Edit
We were lucky enough to find this place day one. Came back every day for a full week. Tried other places too but none came close. The pumpkin chickpea and raisin is insane. Can take some time because super fresh made. Sometimes looks closed. Just knock. Loved this place!

Great return visit - Edit
I was last here two years ago and glad to see it still thriving. My partner and I have eaten here twice this week and the food/ fresh juices have been superb. The chickpea/prune and almond tagine is out of this world. Ditto mixed salad, veggie tagine with lentils.

Great inexpensive vegan Moroccan family cuisine - Edit
Yummy wholesome vegan Moroccan cuisine. It looks like a mom and her 2 children running the place. The food is so reasonably priced and feels very whole food plant based. Lots of large pieces of vegetables in the couscous and the tajine. Awesome pumpkin soup and lentilles soup served with a loaf of bread for dipping. We greedily ate the whole bread with our soups and she generously brought another for the tajine. It seemed the breads were included in the price. We want to come back and try everything on the menu. It was a little hard to communicate but they figured it all out and it’s shockingly inexpensive. Nice and first mint tea of the trip.
Read moreWe came back the next night and loved the cauliflower tajine. The couscous with chickpeas, pumpkin and raisin was great too. Good vegetable tajine as well. My partner loved the harira soup and bean soup. Great verbena tea too and with complimentary starter and bread.

Traditional Homemade Moroccan Food - Edit
Serves traditional homemade food that’s both super affordable and generous in portion size. Since it’s just one woman cooking everything fresh by herself, it does take a bit of time, but it’s completely worth it. The food tasted amazing and I definitely recommend stopping by and supporting this lovely restaurant!

Incredible, fresh homemade deliciousness - Edit
Incredible fresh, food. It takes a little longer because she is making it fresh there and then but it’s worth the wait. My tagine came out sizzling and the flavours were to die for.

It Tool 1,5 Hours to get all the food - Edit
The Food was very nice (especially the onion lemon olive tanjin and the falafel) but it took already a Long time to get the drinks, but the waiting time for the food was crazy! Even for marrocain standards. One hour approx. for the spaghetti, pastille and falafel and 20/30 minutes more for the tanjin. We were super hungry…

Tanjine! 5 Stars! - Edit
We’ve been in Morocco for 2 weeks and hadn’t found a vegan place to try Tajine until today! So good, so filling. Came out piping hot and when he took the Tanjine lid off, you could smell the spices it was cooked in. It was completely fresh and completely delicious! We ate the vegetable and the vegetable with lentil, and the pumpkin soup was yummy also, it all came with a basket of bread. Definitely seek this small restaurant out, and remember to tip! It was one lady and two kids serving it up.

As good as it gets - Edit
This place is tremendous. Had two different kinds of tajine and both were outstanding. Fresh and bursting with flavor. Also had the pumpkin soup that was just as good. And it’s quite inexpensive to get a full belly here. Shukran!

We had the harira and the pumpkin soup, vegetable pastille, cucumber salad, peach juice and orange juice. All of it was delicious and you could really taste how freshly and carefully it was prepared. Best food we had in Morocco so far!

Surprisingly good - Edit
I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised. I had a tagine and the pastilla for lunch. Both came out piping hot and tasted flavorful. The tagine was literally still bubbling when they brought it out. I guess that explained the wait for the food as it was cooked to order. An added bonus is all the cats hanging around the square. A couple even came over for some petting :)

Very good vegan restaurant, a little slow as everything was cooked (and bought) freshly after ordering.

Traditional Moroccan food - Edit
Loved most everything about this place. Food is freshly made, so takes 30 -40 minutes. Is also hit or miss if it will be open. Last time they forgot 2 of our main dishes but after reminding, they brought them both within 10 minutes. I do NOT recommend the bastilla or spring rolls here as they are soggy with grease. Better off at Le Corail across the square.

Delicious if not mysterious! - Edit
We only managed to find this place open once during our 3 visits to Essouira, not sure what the actual opening hours are, but if she is open GO! Absolutely delicious food! We went with 5 other people so managed to sample a few different dishes and they were all wonderful!

Delicious food in Essaouira - Edit
This place was great. We ordered one of the tagines and the pastilla as well as soup. All were delicious. You travel around Morocco enough and you never want to see a tagine ever again because they’re usually bland and boring but this tagine was super tasty and made with care, maybe one of the best tagines I’ve had in the country. The soup was great and I really liked the pastilla. This is a one woman operation so if you show up and see tables of people already there then expect to wait for your food. But the wait is worth it.

Great place with unreliable opening times - Edit
Great place where especially the bastilla is very tasty, a bit to the expensive side but lovely staff ( that does not really speak English ) but you get there by pointing at the menu. Overall I recommend it, because the food is great! Only thing I can’t recommend is the homemade pastry- as its just some simple cookies.

Disappointing - Edit
After reading the great reviews we decided to give it a try. We went to the place next to it the days before and if you compare the both there is a huge difference in taste. We ordered falafel (which was okay), spring rolls, pastilla (soapy) and lentil soup (very watery). First of all they seemed not interested at all and as mentioned the taste was rather disappointing. The prices are really good however if the food does not taste great this won't make it any better. If you are around, decide to visit the other vegan restaurant with the most delicious items!

Homey authentic fresh - Edit
I ate here several times over my week in town. It's one of my favorite dinning experiences in the country.
Read moreThe place seems to be family run & the whole experience felt like being welcomed into someones home. The kitchen is cluttered with various simmering pots. The children are haning around & doing their homework. But the dinning area is still very comforable & it's cool that it opens up onto a square in the heart of the madina.
Food is all made from scratch when you order so allow time for that.
Food is fresh & very authentic. Which I appreciated you can tell some places are catering to tourists exclusivly & lack this quality.
Prices are very reasonable. I love this spot & hope you check it out.
