We love Shaka!

We have eaten at a few Shakas across the Phillipines and love it. Tasty western food and big portions. Lots of options to choose from and great knowing it’s all vegan.

Amazing food in Bohol

We ordered the mushroom stroganoff because we were craving some carbs. We asked to add some tempeh and were accommodated no problem. We also ordered the nachos grande appetizer.

The pasta was amazing. Creamy, garlicky, and tempeh was wonderfully smoky.

The nachos? Well, these were some 5* nachos. The jackfruit was barbecued(?), with the cheeze sauce and guacamole these were up there with some of the best vegan nachos I’ve had.

We’ll be coming back as soon as possible to sample more. Well done, Shaka!

Pros: Food, Friendly service , Accommodated additional requets

Cons: Nothing

Overpriced but few pieces of tempeh were very tasty

I have wanted to come here since arriving, as it has a big menu. Nice setting too.
I enjoyed my meal but thought it was overpriced considering other vegan food we’ve had for Les and enjoyed more.

There was a misunderstanding with the bill and although they sorted it, it was embarrassing having 4 members of staff crowding me for explanations.

Pros: All vegan , Nice venue, Nice presentation

Cons: Not much protein on dishes , Pricey location

Shaka was such a great hidden gem and a refreshing taste to healthy cuisine. We would definitely recommend stop by again next time we’re in Bohol!

Bien ubicado en Alona. Su fuerte para mí son los dulces, excelentes postres. Los batidos también muy buenos. De las hamburguesas lo mejor fueron las papas.

Pros: Buena atención, Cómodo, Presentación

Nice atmosphere and good food. A little bit pricey and the coolers were a little watery. Zorba Platter REALLY good!

Delicious fresh food

Had a delicious dinner, had plenty of choice and the price wasn't too much more than anywhere else. Especially for a place I could eat anything on the menu! They staff were nice and water was free. The food was really tasty and good portions

Absolutely delicious!

Gorgeous place and amazing all vegan food and drinks.
The peanut butter smoothie bowl was so good. My americano was the best I’ve had in 4 months in SE Asia.
An added plus is they use sustainable straws made from broken rice and tapioca. I want to come back everyday.

Simplemente brutal

Cons: El pancake no estaba bueno

Good banana bread and coffee - Very expensive for SE Asia

Love the location and menu with some pictures, cabinet of sweet streets, from muffins to cookies and cakes, excellent variety of food, pricey for this side of the world, basically paying European prices

Quality food with pictures on menu

Big breakfast was filling with nice variety, price 420p was acceptable for this nice vegan resto. Coconana smoothie not that good, too chunky, and not sweet enough.

Pros: Scrambled tofu, Kindy Beans in delicious sauce, Sourdough

Great vegan restaurant

We ordered a pad thai, mango & red bean curry and a ube (purple yam) smoothie bowl. Smoothie bowl is really thick. Great food. No AC, only fans, could get a little hot in the afternoon.

Bravo to the Team. Thanks to make my body and sould happy

I have been waiting for the end of my days here to take the time to write my review. I think saying that on 4 days I came to feed my body and soul 7 times apart from the times I took food to the hotel.
Here the Team leaded by Rain are amazing, they know my name, I can see how they treat the costumers and I can see they come back and come back again and again.
The food is exactly how I like, not only Vegan but Healthy and light and I don’t forget say creative and yummy 🤤.
I will follow this branch for sure.

Congratulations 🎉 to the Panglao team.

Pros: Presentación , Variety, Freshness

Cons: Missing Kombucha

Awesome Vegan Food.

While in Alona for 5 nights we had breakfast here few times. Always serving excellent food & the service is always great even when super busy. We had all of the juices, 2 of the smoothies, the stack & the vegan full breakfast - 100% recommend!!

Great flavours lovely staff

We stayed in Alona for 10 days and ate at Shaka quite a few times.
Everything we tried was good to excellent. Mostly on the excellent end of the scale!
Despite what everyone else is saying regarding the price, in comparison to other food places in Panglao and especially Alona Beach, Shaka's prices are no more costly and are average for this area.
The cold brew coffee is great, we added oat milk.
I loved the Smokey nachos with jackfruit and the Mushroom stack was amazing.

Pros: Flavours , Staff, Variety

Delicious but Expensive

Shaka offers some of the best vegan food around in central Alona Beach.

The vibe is fun and the service is great! However, you will pay the price for the top ingredients and creativity that goes into making the food.

I enjoyed the English Breakfast—one of the best ones I ate in SE Asia. The burger was also pretty good. Best of all was the juice, thick and full of flavor (not watered down like other places).

Overpriced and underwhelming

We came to Shaka Twice, after being to Shaka in different locations around the Philippines we had high hopes for this one and were pleasantly surprised they had a full menu of what looked like great options!

On our first night here we ordered the Clockwork orange, it was probably one of lowest rated burgers I’ve ever had, the mango was really mushy, the mayo had no taste and the burger was earthy. My friends had the same and didn’t even finish their meal. The fries were the only saving grace for this meal. My girlfriend had the lasagna (which was also quite bland with no seasoning) and a mango margarita, they had put extra salt into the drink which made it impossible to drink.

We decided to give it a second try as we hoped we’d just picked the wrong things or a particularly bad chef was on that night. This time we ordered the sloppy Jose and the Wak Wak. These two burgers were presented nicely and were a step above the clockwork orange but still fell short of a top burger position. The patties unfortunately are quite bland and mushy which really let the whole burger down and the sauce just tastes so monotone and didn’t give us much in the way of flavour. We also had some John Lennon drinks, these were brilliant! And would definitely recommend.

One of the biggest turn offs is that because of the brand the prices are very high. (380 pesos for just the burger)

Overall, 1 star for environment, 1 star for the staff which are great, and 1 star for okay food quality. We’d recommend you come for the juice drinks, coffee and maybe a light snack like a cake or biscuit. Don’t stay for the food unfortunately.

Pros: Lots of options., Great coffee and juice drinks., Many vegan cakes and biscuits.

Cons: Very Expensive, Food is bland

Nice flavours but overpriced

I found the food really tasty and with a large variety but unfortunately it’s pretty pricey and the portions are small.

I also wouldn’t necessarily call it healthy food as everything is fried…

Average spot but only game in town

The menu, while Vegan, is all cooked and not raw or overly healthy. Burgers, rice with limited veggies, pad Thai with limited veggies, etc. You get the idea. Don't think of it as healthy eating but more of a regular place with meat removed. Still only place in town that does that so a decent enough lunch for vegans.

Pros: Lots of vegan food, Quick service, Only Vegan in town

Cons: Salty, All cooked, not raw meals, Limited veggies in the dishes

tasty but pricey

good place lots of options quite expensive but nice to have a vegan place around when there isn’t a lot in panglao. burgers were tasty and a decent portion and the pancakes were good very sweet and the stewed fruit made them slightly soggy after a while but still tasty.

Good but overrated

I ate quite a few times at shaka and the food was always.. underwhelming. The burgers were small and nothing special, the nachos were not good. The smoothie bowls were soo delicious but you get such a small portion. They also have amazing coffee. Overall good but expensive and overrated.

Pros: All vegan & lots of healthy options, Great coffee, Delicious smoothie bowls

Cons: Expensive, Small portions, Food isnt great. Better for drinks

Very good food, vegetarian not vegan

We ate here all 3 evenings that we were in Bohol. Saw lots of reviews complaining about how sweet the food is, happy to tell you that not one thing we ordered was sweet! We had the wak wak burger (didn’t love it) the clockwork orange burger (delicious) the brown rice and veggies bowl (very delicious), the veg lasagna, veg tacos (both good) and the pad Thai (excellent). I asked for a side salad (not on the menu), and we had wonderful chocolate monkey smoothie for dessert (tip: share, it’s very big)

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Lovely place to sit , Good prices

Cons: Hardly any salad options

Too sweet, but probably still the best choice in Panglao

Came here a few times while in Panglao due to the lack of other vegan options. Food is okay, filling, and the staff is friendly. Lots of choices for starters and mains, with a focus on burgers.

Pretty much all the food here is a bit too sweet. All the burgers, the fries, the nachos, the "tomato jam", the mains, and even the salads taste sugary. But the burger patties are solid and the buns are good, and the things that are actually supposed to be sweet (like smoothies) are great.

Note that they often tell you that they've "run out" of fries. Usually this actually means they don't have any cooked, but you can wait 20ish minutes for them to make some more.

They also have a loyalty card you can get stamped for free coffee after a few meals.

Nice burger

I had the sloppy Jose burger. It was a bit sweet for my liking and also the chips are served with a tomato jam style sauce which is also a bit too sweet. 4 starts for being a vegan restaurant on a small island though…
